We stayed for 3 nights while visiting family recently. The hotel is right downtown. It is close to German Village, the Brewery District and more. I found the valet service to be interesting. They would park your car and bring you your car, but they did not push you at all to take your luggage, etc. The valet attendants were all friendly. The lobby was nice and the staff friendly and helpful. We ate in the hotel restaurant each morning on the woman who waited on us was very nice. The room was nice and the view was ok. The only thing I didn't like was having to pay over $20 for valet parking every night with no self-parking option in a downtown that is not exactly buzzing during the day or night.

I have stayed at this downtown hotel for years now. Whenever I have business in Columbus (which is alot) I choose to stay at the Renaissance hotel downtown. The property is recently renovated and it is absolutely beautiful. The people that work there are even better! The concierge club (Club 21) and staff have actually become family to me. They take such good care of you and pamper you and get to know your personal favorites and they make sure they have the things that you like. Suzanna takes care of you in the morning with a big smile and always asks what she can get for you even if it is not out. Kevin takes great care of you in the evening by knowing what you would like to drink and having it ready before you ask as well as catering to your specialty needs. Karen Dobis is the head of the Platinum program at the hotel and always helps with whatever you need or if you have any issues. If you are looking for a place which a great concierge lounge and great people, as well as a beautiful property in Columbus Ohio.....this is your place!

Room Tip: All the rooms are very nice but ask about the junior corner suites. Alot of times you can get one without paying the upgrade

What a nice hotel--really really enjoyed it. However, absolutely hated the Christmas music playing in the lobby. It was not only the kind of music I can't stand (every time down to the lobby)--brassy, jazzy--but also it was very very loud. Beautiful lobby but could not enjoy it nor make effective business calls because of that. Otherwise great visit. Loved the room.

The Renaissance in downtown Columbus is as good as it can get in the downtown area. What a great vibe the decor and ambiance gave. The rooms are nicely redone in rich colors as is the lobby, bar and dining room. We really felt like we could have been in New York City! The food was delicious at every meal which is why we chose to eat all of our meals throughout the weekend right there! We attended a function Saturday night and the banquet staff was just as nice and helpful as could be. The food was as wonderful as in the dining room too. Great place for a weekend getaway!

Room Tip: Stay away from the elevators. You can hear them slightly from the room.

Great service, good food and bar, beautiful rooms right in the middle of downtown. Easy to get to other points of interest. I would stay here again and recommend this hotel to others.
