“Good resort with not so good food”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 May 2011

The resort is a very good weekend getaway. The rooms are good, the amenities are good (swimming pool, games etc). Everything about this resort is just good, not more than that. The food here needs improvement. Reaching here could be a problem if you dont own a vehicle. Even though the resort is in a secluded place, the location is not so great. Its worth a visit once. The staff is kind and their service is very good.

Booked for Palaka for the long weekend in April and was very skeptical about the place
It changed on reaching the place, Place has a very calm and pleasing look.
Swimming pool is very well maintained. My 6 year old son almost spent the whole of our stay either in the pool / roaming around the resort. It is very safe and secure.
Power backup is also very good
Every member of the staff is very friendly and accommodative, which is very rare.
Food though is not very elaborate - is very homely, well cooked and served well and also in good portions.
On the check-out day, we requested for a simple lunch to be served which was not included in our Price plan and when we had to settle the bill, this was not included in the bill even after we insisted to pay.
They do have some adventure sports, but we could not play due to rain
However we did play archery and dart.
All in all it was a very good vacation - Because of the locale, comfort and friendliness of the staff.
I would say, it is definitely a good place for the price.

Not many know about this resort, I was pleasantly surprised with the way the resort has been maintained, well maintained lawns, rooms are spacious, clean bathroom and good customer service by the resort staff. The highlight of the stay was the swimming pool and the artificial waterfall built right next to the pool, very refershing, food was average to good. overall not too heavy on your pocket and great value for money.

5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 November 2009

We booked our getaway through Ocio Hospitality (www.ocioindia.com). We initially wanted to go to Coorg, but Ocio suggested that we go to Palaka Resorts (www.palakaresorts.com) near Hassan.

The resort is only about a 4 hour drive from Bangalore, with a very nice road (the resort is just off the Mysore-Hassan main road). We started at 6 am and reached at 10 am, after stopping for breakfast near Nelamangala.

(a) Very nice resort for a quiet lazy weekend away from Bangalore. Fresh new unexplored resort which is hardly a year old.
(b) The resort staff were very friendly and promptly catered to our needs.
(c) We spent hours in the swimming pool which also has a kid's pool.
(d) We visited the historical towns of Shravanabelagola, Belur and Halebid which are only about 50 kms from the resort. So, the stay of 2 nights, 3 days was ideal for us.
(e) We had fun, we had some small sightseeing, we relaxed.
(f) When it rains, the greenery around is fabulous, the nearby dam was filled with water.
(g) Lots of activities to do: swimming; rope climbing; visit to the nearby dam and lake; pedal boating within the resort; tractor ride; walk through the coconut groove, etc.
(h) The food was very well prepared with less oil and very tasty.
(i) Nursing that drink when seated on the sitout and watching the sunset.
(j) The power supply was erratic, but the backup generator was a saving grace.

  • Liked — Fresh new resort amidst greenery and nature. Great value for money, good service & food. Friendly staff.
  • Disliked — Erratic power supply
