We booked this hotel from Yatra dot com. Was surprised to see Oyo Room booking. Of course, you don't get a phone number so if you want to make any changes to the booking to get directions etc there is no way to do it. In any case, we took a shared taxi from Gauhati and got down at Barik Point (near Civil Hospital). Walked all the way to the hotel as no cab will take you nearby. Luckily we did not have much luggage and it was not raining.

It is basically a large old villa converted to hotel. The rooms are clean and comfortable. (depends on what room you get) The staff is friendly and service ok types. There is no restaurant nearby just a CCD kiosk. They do have tea-pot in the room and take dinner orders. Nothing fancy though. The sun sets early here to basically after 7pm there nowhere to go to.The sun rises also early but that has no benefit. The staff sleeps till 7:30 am and the b/f is usually served after 8 am.

If you are here for sightseeing most of the sightseeing tours will leave by 8 am from Police Bazaar. So basically skip breakfast. They will promise to pack b/f but it never happened for us. You have to walk approx half an hour to get transport, which should not be a problem. The shared cab service on the main road is good. They charge Rs 10 for Police Bazaar. Try to reach hotel before it is dark. The place is very safe only that there are no street lights.

The pantry area where they serve breakfast in the morning is a bit of an odd place. They serve home cooked food and have lots of bread, bun, butter, jam, cornflakes etc. The chai is full of sugar and if you ask for tea without sugar they can make some but there are only 2 people to serve and the number of requests they can handle are few.

Given that the room we booked was for around 3K we believe it was not worth the money we paid. We had to extend the travel by one night which we booked through Oyo and this time we paid 2.3K. That seems reasonable for the type of hotel and the services.

They do have wifi but my suggestion is to just skip that part. Your 4G connection will give you much better performance than the in-house wifi. They do have laundry service but the staff cannot give a 24-hour delivery commitment.

Room Tip: Ask for corner rooms.

The hotel is good for families. The rooms are good. Breakfast is also nice. Room service are good. Facilities for tea/coffee in rooms are added advantage. The location is also good. Near a very famous Lady Hyadri park.

His was an OYO property ...stayed for 2 night and taken 2 rooms one a suite that had a bedroom and a hall ..other one was a regular double bed room. The rooms, amenities provided were decent. The overall feel of the hotel is nice. It's near pine mount school in shillong.
They served parathas for breakfast which were good. The breakfast service was a bit slow ..I could see almost all their guest 's were at table at once so u can understand the delays .the parking is just manageable.. lastly..I just felt the tariff was a bit high for the property otherwise it's a good stay ...would recommend!

Great hotel just 1.5 KMs from police bazar. The staff here is very supportive and friendly. Hotel is decent enough for families. Limited but good breakfast options provided. Would strongly recommend. It is safe.
