From the time we arrived and was shown to our room, in the barn, by Neil everything was first class. The evening meal was excellent and plentiful. It was cooked to order and smaller meals were available if required. We went into the bar area and was made to feel vey welcome by all. Neil came and spend some time with us to tell us about the area. The room we had was very clean and roomy. The bathroom was very clean with plenty of hot water. Breakfast next morning was excellent where we could choose what we wanted from the menu with plenty of tea and coffee. We would recommend this hotel and will certainly return again in the future.

Room tip: The Barn is the quieter place to stay

Just stayed for one night, had a room in the barn extension which was lovely - not huge but a separate dressing area so fine overall, especially at the price. Really friendly welcome and a great meal in the restaurant later on, fish and chips recommended. Good breakfast. Would happily stay again.

Just had a wonderful 2 night stay in the Barns at the rear of the main building. Very clean and spacious room . The food was excellent both at breakfast time and evening. Piping hot. The staff were very friendly and polite going out of their way to provide a good service at the head of which was Neal the landlord. Very friendly and jovial making sure our stay was as pleasant as possible . Definitely would recommend this hotel to anyone in fact we will certainly be back again .

We stayed in one of the barn rooms for two nights at the beginning of April. The room was very nice, nice bathroom, large and comfy bed and nice and warm. The breakfast was hearty and we ate in the pub for one of the nights. Food was good and generous portions. All the staff were extremely friendly and pleasant.
This is an ideal place to stay as a gateway to the Lakes.
