Met friends who were staying in Wells so it was a halfway point for us and had been meaning to try the pub for some time and we were not disappointed. There are various dining rooms all with a lovely atmosphere. There is a smaller intimate dining room which would be great for a semi private meal for a larger group. Modern furnishings and tableware compliment the old building really well. Tables are not crammed in to accommodate as many as possible either. Lovely wood burner in centre of 2 main dining areas is a lovely divider. Four of us ate 3 courses for £35 a head including a drink each. For what we had it was great value and everyone had plenty to eat and thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The service was faultless. The menu was imaginative and tasty. No hesitation in going again or recommending.
