Met friends who were staying in Wells so it was a halfway point for us and had been meaning to try the pub for some time and we were not disappointed. There are various dining rooms all with a lovely atmosphere. There is a smaller intimate dining room which would be great for a semi private meal for a larger group. Modern furnishings and tableware compliment the old building really well. Tables are not crammed in to accommodate as many as possible either. Lovely wood burner in centre of 2 main dining areas is a lovely divider. Four of us ate 3 courses for £35 a head including a drink each. For what we had it was great value and everyone had plenty to eat and thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The service was faultless. The menu was imaginative and tasty. No hesitation in going again or recommending.

Booked dinner having previously eaten at the sister establishment The Duck, which was superb.
Friendly greeting and attentive staff. Good menu and wine list. Starters were good, but mains were disappointing. Wife had roast which was fine, but she said had "gravy like glue". I had gammon which was over-cooked and fried eggs were solid.

Excellent coffee.

We had a great dinner at The Hunworth Bell. Our host at Mount Farm B and B recommended it as a one of the best in the area, and he was correct.

We visited her last Sunday for a roast dinner..... And it was amazing. We both had the beef, We were asked how we wanted it cooked. And it was cooked perfectly. Everything about the roast was just lovely. The cauliflower cheese is delicious, we even asked for another serving.
Staff were very friendly and welcoming.... We cant wait to return very soon. 5* from us!

Thank Claire P
