Spent my 50th Birthday here, its out of this world. Clean, lovely rooms, food to die for and the staff were excellant, a credit to the Hotel. I just loved this hotel and will definately return to that beautiful 4 poster bed.

We booked a very last minute short break at the Beechwod. We had a room opening onto the garden with a super king bed. The room was a lovely size, very spacious with seating area. Sadly the weather was pretty miserable so weren't able to take advantage of the seating directly outside the room. In sunny weather it would be beautiful to open the doors and enjoy tea outside.

The bed was exceptionally comfortable with good quality pillows, and turn down service was provided without having to request this. At this time the bathroom was tidied and used cups, teapot, cafetierre replaced.

Bathroom also very spacious. I loved the slipper bath but wasn't as ideal for the other half as it wasn't long enough! Very powerful shower and no problems with hot water. Robes were also provided.

The short break was inclusive of dinner and this was excellent. With nibbles in the bar whilst ordering to the petit fours with coffee everything was very good.

The staff at the Beechwood are very attentive and do an excellent job, nothing is too much trouble - they are naturals!

Our one disappointment was that we looked forward to our cream tea on arrival. The tea was served and we were told the scones would follow five minutes later. We even thought we could smell them cooking. We were gutted when five minutes later we were presented with the most horrible little supermarket scones!! They were most definitely NOT home baked and having been asked to wait five minutes we strongly suspected someone had popped to the local shop! The manager did tell us on checkout that this isn't usually the case and they pride themselves on their food - he had been away for a couple of days though!! Thankfully everything which followed was amazing!

Room Tip: Garden rooms are lovely, very spacious!

We booked The Beechwood for an 80th birthday family celebration and it proved to be an excellent choice. The attention to detail and personal service is second to none.
Our guests were treated to a delicious, locally sourced menu with choices for starter and pud and fillet of beef (absolutely fantastic) for the main course. The menu choices were all decided prior to the event between ourselves and we were hungry just discussing the food before we had even sampled it! To have so many farmers commenting on the beef is quite something and all cooked to order.
Don gave such welcome advice to keep the party running smoothly and we cannot thank him enough. We did not stay at the hotel itself as most of us were local but the restaurant and bar were immaculate and the help with parking much appreciated.
I cannot praise the hotel highly enough - go and enjoy the hospitality and enjoy!

In spite of having a holiday home in North Walsham for several years we had not visited the Beechwood before. Out friends invited us to join them for a family Easter lunch at the hotel, and we were not disappointed. An excellent lunch in a very friendly environment. The best compliment my wife and I can say is that th lunch was like a family occasion at some very well heeled relations. Recommended!!

We've been here a few times before - always with family. Today we were six of us for Easter Sunday lunch. From the moment we arrived and were shown to a comfortable table and chairs in the lounge for pre-lunch drinks and canapes, to the moment we left, it was faultless. Tremendous staff (great leadership from the two owners of the place who made sure everything ran well) with a great attitude and just the right level of engagement. Food presented without pretence but with great style (and superb quality). The veloute before the starter was worthy of a star. They were packed out but service and timing was impeccable - plenty of staff and a well-rehearsed kitchen, I think. Other things of note: There was not a thing out of place. The loos (ladies and gents) are exemplary - one-use cotton towels, a big cotton towel, tissues, decent hand cream - and this is just in the gents - and impeccably clean - top marks here, again.

All in all, an incredibly well managed restaurant that manages to impress time and time and time again. As an example of how to make a great restaurant work in a small-ish town, this has to be the best I've ever been to - and I've eaten in thousands of places.

Immense fun, owners who put you at your ease, a sensible wine list and top-notch food. This place could transfer to Chelsea and be full every night. Other local restaurants should take note s and provide some competition - because right now, this place is in a different league.
