“Perfect retreat”
Reviewed October 27, 2014 for a stay in October 2014

My wife and I (and our dog) wanted a quiet few days away. We needed somewhere with easy access, and Acorn Cottage was ideal.Janet had provided home-made cakes on our arrival, plus tea, coffee, and milk in the fridge. Despite the weather, we were out every day, Norwich was 20 minutes in the car, and there were several nearby beaches to stroll along. Would recommend Acorn Cottage as a base to explore the area.

“Lovely cottage and garden”
Reviewed September 13, 2014 for a stay in September 2014

We stayed here for 3 days, wish it could have been longer! Light, airy and well equipped with plenty of room for the 2 of us. Pretty area outside to relax, dine al fresco plus a private garden area. We arrived to find tea, coffee, fresh milk and delicious homemade buns. Janet is a lovely host, helpful but unintrusive. Will definitely stay again if we return to Norfolk

“A little bit of heaven!”
Reviewed March 13, 2014 for a stay in March 2014

Oh my! I have found myself a little bit of heaven! There is every comfort one could wish for in a short break at Acorn Cottage. And my springer Millie seemed to have settled herself there instantly too.

Acorn Cottage has been well designed, making very good use of the space - nothing feels cramped etc. In fact, for a solo traveller, it was very spacious. Every room has been tastefully decorated and is comfortable beyond words. I had the best night's sleep ever whilst away from home. Janet and Keith are friendly, helpful and have two lovely springers. Although the cottage is attached to the owner's property it felt very private and had its own separate fully enclosed garden.

The cottage is a short walk into North Walsham (check out the history and interior of St Nicholas' church, especially the stained glass windows); and an even shorter walk to the Memorial Garden park which is very handy for walking the dog. All in all, I felt I had hit the jackpot in staying at Acorn Cottage. I would happily recommend this place and could easily enjoy being a frequent visitor.

“Comfortable, homely, quiet and friendly”
Reviewed February 21, 2014 for a stay in February 2014

We've just returned home after our stay at Acorn Cottage and we had a lovely short break. The cottage is perfect for 2, is warm and comfortable and the owner, Janet is friendly and welcoming. The homemade cake and bread was a lovely surprise too.

We were visiting family nearby so will be back. Thank you

“A lovely, peaceful break at Acorn Cottage”
Reviewed November 2, 2013 for a stay in October 2013

We stayed at Acorn Cottage over half-term. It was a lovely, peaceful location. The cottage is warm and cosy, with everything you needed for a few days away. The shops are local and within walking distance. The walk through woods to the beach is well recommended - was breathtaking and beautiful. The air defence museum, although it did not look much on arrival was amazing! Three very knowledgeable ex-servicemen took us through air defence from World War 2 to the present day - at £6 per adult, a bargain! It was a shame that some shops seem to be closing down locally. We live in a village and value our local shops very much. A sign of the times I suppose. What wonderful bargains in Lidl! Many thanks for the tea/coffee and cake waiting for us on arrival.

“ideal for short break”

We stayed for the last weekend of August in this clean, comfortable and well-equipped cottage. Very nice to have tea, coffee and home-made buns on arrival! Ideally situated for the coast and visiting Norwich as described in other reviews. I have somewhat limited mobility, but I'm walking and the cottage was definitely suitable for me. There is a step into the cottage but once inside all is completely flat and easily navigated on foot. The wet room has no steps or uneven surfaces inside. We couldn't tell that dogs had stayed there so it's obviously very well cleaned. We'd stay here again if we were in the area.
