Excellent stay

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Sep 5, 2024via mobile
We stayed here for two nights, our room was quite small but beautifully clean and had everything you need, thought the lighting could have been a bit brighter but a small thing.

The staff were all very welcoming and friendly, we ate here one evening and found our food a little salty, but quite delicious
.
Good selection of breakfast food, lots of fruit and cereals and also cooked and veggie options, the porridge was a little disappointing but I was able to enhance it with cherry compote.

There is an excellent hourly bus service from quite close to the hotel to Wells and Holkham and further.

All in all an excellent stay!
Date of stay: September 2024
Room Tip: There is a back door leading from the car park to the first floor. Good to know if it is raining!

Good to hear you had an excellent stay. However, it sounds like you had a few niggles, that we would be happy to rectify if you let us know when you are on site. We always listen attentively to our customers. It's very unusual for our food to be seasoned incorrectly due to the experience of our chefs, but please do mention anything to us if you want to, we always listen to all our guests attentively.

Don't be fooled by the look from the outside on the main road. Great food , good location, really friendly and helpful staff. Lots of different types of rooms. Very clean and tip top facilities within room. Good deco. Lots of parking close to outlying rooms

Room tip: Good choice of different types of room

Thanks so much for your review of your first experience with us. I'm so pleased you enjoyed what you found when you arrived inside. We do hear that people can easily 'pass us by', whether this is the long drive on the coast and the humble building, but we do take great pleasure in hearing when people find the relaxed friendly atmosphere within. So pleased you found our food to be great. We hope to see you again soon.

We didnt actually stay here but we were reccomended to eat there by a man who owns a business in Burnham Market. We wanted to eat in the restaurant and enquired if they could accomodate us. A very unwelcoming man told us hotel guests came first which we understood. We asked if we rang later and the restaurant wasn't full could we have a table. It was a no in a very emphatic voice. I was a Hotelier and would say this is very bad business and not wahat you would expect to hear.

Oh no, we are also a bit puzzled. We are very surprised to hear this, as we usually are told how friendly our staff are. We very much enjoy people coming to eat with us. Whether they are resident guests or coming in to eat only. It's a pleasure to share our love of food with everyone. We carefully and thoughtfully source our food, each process of cooking the various elements is considered and each dish put together to ensure it is a whole story. I am in the kitchen a great deal and I take pride in my family hotel and restaurant so really feel disappointed to hear this. Would you mind writing to me at info@titchwellmanor.com to tell us a bit more. I'd very much like to understand it in a bit more depth

Stayed 4 nights and on the whole it was a good experience. We had stayed here once before so new the surroundings etc. We were given room 1 which was fine, clean, with plenty of wardrobe and dresser storage for clothing.

The bathroom was tastefully furnished. The downside was the roller blind in the bathroom which was almost permanently closed when we were using the room as the bathroom was overlooked. A venetian blind would have been easier than the roller blind and we would have had more light in the bathroom, as it was we felt like mushrooms growing in the dark at times!

Breakfast was good with plenty of choices on the menu. We enjoyed evening meals on 2 occasions which were tasty though maybe slightly overpriced. Having said that we ate at 2 other establishments and prices were similiar.

To sum up we had a good 4 days stay to enjoy the travelling length of the North Norfolk coast and what it has to offer, which is plenty!

Very clean and a nice place to stay. My partner and I stayed for a few nights and the room was lovely and clean. Pillows on the bed were a bit lumpy but apart from that all good in the room except the safety lights outside of the room were very bright and made it difficult to sleep. But they did switch off at 11.30pm. The shutters were good but did still let in a lot of light.

Good to see the hotel uses local products in the shower. There are some lovely gardens and plants around the hotel. We were slightly disappointed that we were so close to the beach but there wasn’t a walk close to the hotel where you could walk to the beach. Dogs are also welcome but there is nowhere to walk the dog near the hotel and the hotel is on a main road.

While the breakfast was very good with a reasonably good choice, the evening meal we had was very, very disappointing. I found out later that other people were also not impressed with the evening meals. Staff at breakfast were pleasant and service was quick and in some instances were a little too quick as I was still finishing my fruit, yoghurt before they brought my cooked breakfast. It is quite expensive to stay and more than we would usually pay but it was a celebration and a treat.
