Great food

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Sep 5, 2024via mobile
Ate here one evening, staff very friendly, the food very tasty, the courgette feta and hummus salad was beautiful, also the pork belly was great.

Good location, there is a great children’s area and outside seating. Lovely snug rooms and very dog friendly I understand as we only ate here one evening.

The Briarfield Hotel and room No 12. A wonderful hotel. First impression was " what a find"! I have travelled a lot in the UK and I was really impressed. Comfortable accommodation, great food, lovely staff and excellent location. Marvellous. A second visit on the cards without a doubt.

I stayed at this hotel for 3 days towards the end of August. Considering it was still school holidays in England, it was not that busy. The room was fine. The fan in the ceiling was not working but this was not a great inconvenience. The rainshower is excellent and easy to control.
Food in the restaurant was good but there was too much emphasis on fried food.
My suggestion is that the restaurant explores the possibility of serving grilled rather than fried fish. Also they should explore locally made real pies which should make it easier for the kitchen plus it can help more customers with food intolerances/preferences.
Would I stay here next time I come for birdwatching in North Norfolk? Most definitely yes. This hotel could not really be nearer to the Titchwell RSPB reserve, unless it was within the reserve itself.

After some hit-and-miss meals in 'foodie' pubs along the coast, this time we chose to go more upmarket. And we're very glad we did. Food, service and ambience were all spot on. Tomato soup and king prawns for starters were both good. For mains, the pork belly was beautifully tender, and the beef brisket in bbq sauce was delicious. For dessert, the summer strawberry tart was tasty but light. A nice selection of wines, and we both enjoyed glasses of the Italian red Primitivo. The children's menu was good value with bigger portions than you sometimes get elsewhere. Very friendly staff who were knowledgeable about the food on the menu. Not cheap, but also not that much more than we had been paying elsewhere for pub meals. Would definitely like to return.

A wonderful stay in a lovely location near the coast. Food was fantastic my whole stay and all staff could not have been more helpful in handling my dietary requirements (dairy-free and gluten-free) - loads of options, all high quality and no stress involved. Will return asap and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing stay with family or friends in a wonderful part of Norfolk with brilliant food.

Stayed for two nights in a deluxe room with my dogs and had a very relaxing stay. The room was lovely and comfortable and the bathroom had a fantastic freestanding bath so felt very luxurious.

Treats and a dog walk map were provided for the dogs. There is a big field next to the hotel for exercising dogs which is a great idea. You can walk to Brancaster beach easily too. This is a truly dog friendly hotel!

There's also a big play area if staying with children.

Breakfast each morning was excellent and plentiful. We ate in the restaurant both nights and the food was great.

Staff were all very friendly and welcoming. I have only put 4 stars because it seemed that they were short staffed in the evenings when we were eating in the restaurant so service was a little slow.

Would definitely recommend Briarfields to anyone wanting a relaxing break on the Norfolk coast. Lovely rooms, great food and a fantastic location.
