After some hit-and-miss meals in 'foodie' pubs along the coast, this time we chose to go more upmarket. And we're very glad we did. Food, service and ambience were all spot on. Tomato soup and king prawns for starters were both good. For mains, the pork belly was beautifully tender, and the beef brisket in bbq sauce was delicious. For dessert, the summer strawberry tart was tasty but light. A nice selection of wines, and we both enjoyed glasses of the Italian red Primitivo. The children's menu was good value with bigger portions than you sometimes get elsewhere. Very friendly staff who were knowledgeable about the food on the menu. Not cheap, but also not that much more than we had been paying elsewhere for pub meals. Would definitely like to return.
