“Wonderful Stay!”

We were looking for a relaxing place to stay for the Bank Holiday weekend and The Grain Store was the perfect choice. Couldn't have been better! Beautifully situated with great views over the fields. The property has a real personal feel and it was very welcome to find both milk and wine in the fridge on our arrival. We are looking forward to returning!
Thank you Mark and Sarah.

“So peaceful & relaxing with beautiful countryside.”

This is an ideal sized accommodation for three, and has all the modern facilities you would need. It's very cosy, comfortable and clean and the owners are very friendly and kind if you ask for their assistance. There are wonderful pastoral views from the main window. It's very quiet and tranquil here and there are safe and enjoyable cycling routes into Southwold, which takes around forty minutes, or you can continue on to Walberswick along similar traffic-free lanes. (The owners offer free secure storage for bicycles.) Uggeshall is well placed and tourist attractions like Dunwich, Aldeburgh and Thorpeness are all just a short drive away if you feel like a change from Southwold.
We've stayed here several times now and know that we'll return again in future.

“Wonderful hideaway minutes from Southwold”

We had an amazing stay the Grain Store was so homely and Mark and Sarah couldn't have been more helpful (we forgot our son's bike helmet and Mark appeared with one for us to borrow together with wonderful safe cycle routes suitable for a nine year old!!)
The accommodation was warm and cosy, brilliantly equipped and located far enough away from Southwold to enjoy the Suffolk countryside but pop into the seaside excitement in minutes. Our son loved the clock on the pier.
We look forward to future visits and highly recommend it.

“Tranquil location to Explore the coast”

We chose The Grain Store in Uggeshall as it was just far enough away from the busyness of Southwold to make us feel we were in the middle of nowhere while only being a 10 min drive away.
Its was ideally suited for the two of us with a perfectly appointed kitchen and utensils for doing 'real' cooking. Unlike some places which have only the bare minimum.
The large south facing window at the end of the room let the sun stream in every morning which was great start to the day.
A perfect get-a-way for two.

“Lovely location for the Suffolk skies”
Reviewed September 17, 2013 for a stay in August 2013

The Grain Store is a very comfortable, well-converted and quiet location from which to explore the Suffolk coast. Although you will need a car or bike, there are plenty of quiet walks along footpaths in every direction. It is in a lovely setting among the wheat fields from which to view the big Suffolk skies and stars at night, and the Butts are very welcoming in allowing guests to spend time in their large gardens and grounds. The conversion has some low ceilings, which might affect very tall people, and although there is a bath there is no fitted shower, but the place is very well equipped.

“A blissful week in beautiful surroundings”
Reviewed August 2, 2013 for a stay in July 2013

We have just returned from a wonderful week at the Grain Store. There was just the right amount of room for us - a Mum, Dad, 3yo and 10month old. The property was spotlessly clean, and contained everything we could possibly need. The washing machine and drying racks came in very useful; and the kitchen contained everything needed to whip up a meal for hungry kids. Everything provided was also of excellent quality, lovely bed linen and towels.
The garden is beautiful and my son had a whale of a time running round and exploring. Mark and Sarah even had a giant teepee up which we used for playing pirates...
The area is so peaceful and relaxing, and conveniently only a short drive to Southwold, numerous National Trust and English Heritage properties, Africa Alive and lots of lovely beaches.

“A perfect spot and faultless accommodation”
Reviewed July 23, 2013 for a stay in July 2013

This is the second time we've stayed at The Grain Store and will definitely be going back, it's so lovely.

The owners, Mark and Sarah, are so helpful - great attention to detail and customer care, but never 'in your face'. The accommodation is lovely - a perfect barn renovation. Modern, comfortable, spotlessly clean and lots of lovely extra touches that make it stand out. Their home-made honey is lovely! If the weather is ever out of sorts, there are plenty of books and dvds to sit back and enjoy. The location is beautiful - very peaceful yet so close to so many lovely spots - Southwold, Walberswick, Henham Park - plenty to see and do. There's plenty of choice of great restaurants in the area and if you want to do any home cooking, everything is to hand in the kitchen (no shortage of cutlery, crockery or pots / pans). The fridge is nice and big, so plenty of room to stock up on food and cold beers and wine (a nice bottle of complimentary wine already in there!).

Thank you again, Mark and Sarah - looking forward to our trip back next year!
