This cafe is very expensive for what you get, a very average breakfast on a small dinner plate, bacon ok, sausages below average, a few beans, a couple of mushrooms and a tomato. The toast is hardly toasted and very cheap sliced bread.
It is however Southwold so we must expect it to overrated and overpriced.

Firstly thankyou for taking time out to review our cafe, secondly I am really sorry that you didnt enjoy your breakfast as most people do. Our bacon and sausages are sourced from a local butcher, our produce and bread from a local farmshop and bakery, i can assure you these are not as you say cheap.

We do take all comments on board and ask should you wish to discuss this any further then do not hesitate to contact us.

Firstly the food was nice although very pricey for a cafe. The place itself is small and the tables very close together. This is where the problem starts as dogs are allowed in the cafe. There should have been a restricted number of dogs but to our dismay it looks like it's compulsory to take a 4 legged friend in the cafe. All around whilst eating was dogs, at least three barking at others. The owners didn't seem to mind their furry friends being a complete nuisance. No not a nice place to eat at all unless your not so fussy with the barking, slobbering and hairs whilst eating.

Thankyou for taking the time to review our cafe and glad you enjoyed your food.

We are a dog friendly cafe on a dog walking route and we believe that four legged friends are also part of the family. On rare occasions there can be a few dogs in there but usually just one or two.

I hope this hasn't put you off coming again and we look forward to seeing you again soon.

I have visited the Harbour Cafe on many occasions, but have recently been unable to do so due to being on a different route.
What a pleasure to go back for the first time in some months. The Scones both fruit and cheese are real quality as are the other choices on the varied menu. The service is always with a smile. Plus the view from the window out to the boats on the river is very tranquil. I would recommend that if you are in Southwold head down to the Harbour Cafe and see for yourself. You won't be disappointed.

Lia, Lisa & Carla never ever disappoint. Best Scones in Suffolk in my view. Everything is home prepared & cooked to high standards. Have been popping in regularly for years. The outlook & position is stunning and looks like it hasn't changed for hundreds of years. A real gem of a cafe. Rustic, down to earth supa friendly. Well worth seeking out in the Old Harbour area.

That to do on New Years Day? Southwold of course, got fish and chip in Southwold and drove to beach parking, munched them down, quick totter along the beach to give the dog a run, decide that a drink was in order to wash everything down, so stopped here, packed out but managed to squeeze in, 4 hot chocolate please. Very nice on a cool windy day.
