“Excellent spacious house, ideally situated in a lovely village.”
Reviewed August 12, 2013 for a stay in July 2013

The house was ideally situated in the lovely village, with a short walk to beach and ferry. Tastefully decorated and furnished with a fully equipped kitchen. Spacious bedrooms, and bathroom with an excellent power shower. Very clean. Good sized garden and patio area with garden furniture. Quiet, private, safe location with good parking space. Sufficient amenities in village with two good pubs.We had no complaints at all and would return again without hesitation.

“Best Walberswick house we've stayed in”
Reviewed July 7, 2013 for a stay in July 2013

Despite the age range of our group (we had our son's family with us, including a babe in arms) there were facilities for everyone. Most of the suggestions made by earlier guests had been taken care of which made for a safe, comfortable stay. The beds and chairs were all of excellent quality and the kitchen and bathroom facilities were good too, with everything brand new. We liked the seclusion - the drive is gated - and the feeling of space round the house, with its good sized garden. An extra bonus was the new delicatessen at the end of the drive, together with the village shop, not to mention the two local pubs (and others not far away!) so we were spoilt for choice. There are various easy walks - into Southwold, taking the rowing boat ferry or crossing the Bailey Bridge along Palmers Lane - also across the marshes, to the beach or onto the common. The grandchildren loved the adventure playground hidden away there.
We'd recommend the Adnams Brewery Tour, but don't drive to it!
We've been coming to Walberswick as a family for nearly 30 years now and this is one of the best houses ever!

“Generally Excellent”
Reviewed April 24, 2013 for a stay in April 2013

We had a very enjoyable time both at the property and in the surrounding countryside. Great walks around Walberswick and further afield. Our stay was by no means long enough to exhaust the options for exploring the area.

The property fitted our requirements to a tee. Very clean, well proportioned and in most cases, adequate facilities.

Just a few minor improvements may be considered if possible. -

1 We couldn't find a handle for the grill pan or any oven gloves.
2 The little emergency torch in the front entrance did not work. We didn't need it but I tried it to see how it would work in an emergency and couldn't get it to work. The one upstairs worked fine.
3 An electric element in the towel rail would enable the towel rail to operate when the heating is not required.
4 Additional light over the sink would be helpful.
5 A discrete PIR to operate the light over the front door would be helpful to see your way in after dark.
6 We were confused as to what to do with the Wheelie bins before leaving the property.
7 Additional car parking would be helpful.

It is noted that 3 and 4 may be difficult to install at this stage. (I'm an electrician)

Although this seems like quite a long list they are only minor issues and their absence did not detract from our enjoyment of our stay.

“A lovely house in a beautiful village by the sea.”
Reviewed April 9, 2013 for a stay in April 2013

This was a lovely, spacious house which was immaculately clean and located in a peaceful and beautiful village. The owners had thought of everything and we didn't want for anything during our stay. All the bedrooms are of a good size with an impressive master bedroom. Downstairs is a great kitchen diner as well as a separate lounge (which was lovely and cosy) and a utility room. There was a good-sized garden and the sea, pubs and shop are just a short stroll away.

Just across the estuary is the lovely town of Southwold. There is a ferry across during the day but if you decide to walk back (a gorgeous walk) as we did be sure to pack a torch; there is no light pollution what so ever!

Reviewed April 1, 2013 for a stay in March 2013

The whole experience was first class, information was exceptionally good with comprehensive instructions for everything.the property was delightful, very well furnished and comfortable, the location too was excellent.
I must say that Sue and Nathan are very trusting, and their trust deserves to be respected, which I hope future guests will do.
We were sad to leave at the end of the stay because we had such a relaxing and enjoyable experience.
Thank you very much

“a wonderful, relaxing stay in a beautiful house, that felt like a home!”
Reviewed February 24, 2013 for a stay in February 2013

The house was immaculately clean, I am very fussy and I could not fault it. The house itself was beautiful, fresh, newly decorated, and had everything that you could possibly need. The rooms are spacious and bright. The heating was really warm and we loved the wood burning stove/fire at night. The kitchen had everything that you could ever need and all the items were clean and in excellent order. Having children I used the washing machine dishwasher and vacuum and everything worked perfectly. The living room felt very homely and comfortable. The master bedroom was really large and the beds were very comfortable with crisp white sheets. Having the toilet cloakroom downstairs aswell as an upstairs bathroom was really helpful with children. We enjoyed the books and dvd's on evenings in front of the fire. The location of the house in the village was great, a short stroll into the village and to the sea. We enjoyed a bit of winter sun throwing stones into the sea! We thought that the private feel to the front of the house ( being gated) was great. All in all we would love to go back and would highly recomment this home from home setting by the sea.
