The best thing about The Roebuck is the staff. They are all very friendly and helpful. The hotel appeared to run very smoothly. The rooms were spacious and clean. We had a room overlooking the side garden which was beautiful and quiet.

Stayed here for a couple of nights, very good, staff friendly & rooms clean, starting to look a bit tired & will probably need a fortune spent on it in the near future, but is very acceptable at the moment & good position for exploring Kent & Sussex. Keep an eye out for the bargain breaks & restaurant discounts.

Room Tip: Ask for one at the back as hotel is on Main Road.

This is a great place to visit. Very nice location and the rooms are clean and spacious. Close to East Grinstead town and Uckfield. Good food, excellent bar facilities and friendly staff. Would definitely recommend. Thank you.

We have just returned from three nights at the Roebuck. It is in an excellent location to explore Ashdown Forest.
The staff were friendly and efficient. The room was spacious and well equipped. However, the walls are very thin Eg. you can hear the people next door talking, boiling the kettle and the tv even when it wasn't on that loud.
Breakfast is of a good quality and we ate one evening meal here which was also really good.
We were a little disappointed that despite advertising as dog friendly, we were unable to sit in the communal bar area to eat. When eating an evening meal, we were placed on a table away from anyone else next to the pool room. Not sure what would happen if there were two parties with a dog wanting to eat at the same time as only one table.
The reason given was that others may want to eat in the bar. A little strange as there is a restaurant as well for people to eat. We were given a table in the bar for breakfast as everyone else ate in the restaurant.

There are several really good local pubs to go instead, so we ate there instead.

Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel. We are very proud of the team and the service and standards that they provide.
I will look in to the dog friendly areas as I do understand that the only table available is not in the bar where you can enjoy the atmosphere of the pub. I am glad you enjoyed your stay.

We stayed as part of a pre-wedding party and because we booked a bit later we ended up paying almost double than other family members. The rooms are very tired, for £107.50 I would have expected better. For the wedding night we stayed at the nearby Ravenswood which was cheaper and much better.
