“Well worth a visit”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 August 2011

We stayed in the Best Beech as an alternative to the Smart and Simple and Hotel du Vin in Tunbridge Wells where we normally stay when visiting family. We will definitely be prioritising the Best Beech in the future. The room was charming, bathroom a little dated but more than made up for by the generosity of toiletries, tea and coffee facilities in room and warm environment. Breakfast was really good and we would highly recommend eating there based on the lunch we enjoyed. The ploughmans platter was frankly memorable and we are quite difficult to please. The wine list is reasonable and the inn is located in a very picturesque setting. Lovely locals too. We felt well looked after and even one might left us very relaxed. Professionally run but laid back.

Room Tip: Room 7 is large but does overlook the smoking area. Lovely bed linen

When we arrived we had a warm welcome from David which was continued by his staff. The room was very nice and clean, and we liked the attention to detail in the toiletry and refreshments presentation. The breakfast was excellent, my husband commented one of the best he had had, We invited family to dinner there and it lived up to the awards for good food. It is all cooked to order and well worth the wait. Altogether we felt very comfortable there and would return if visiting Wadhurst again.

Stayed here last week (aug 2011) and thought our bedroom was ok - perhaps a little noisy due to the road outside .. It was fairly hot when we stayed and thought we would eat outside - but there were too many smokers for this to be poss. So we went to the Mark Cross in up the road - very good food and didn't get to eat here. Did learn that the landlord was leaving by someone at the bar - he said they had not been successful and wanted to move on - seemed to account for the lifeless in the place - shame as we rather liked the pub.

This was booked as a birthday treat and was a really relaxing weekend. The rooms were spotless and the food was excellent. Breakfast was enormous!! Altogether an ideal place and we will definitely go back.

This hotel provides a very comfortable stay , with good friendly service from the excellent Hotel manager who pandered to our every need. It provides a typical country Pub area which is a very pleasent place for a quiet drink. Most enjoyble of all is the food provided in the restaurant and the superb breakfast in the morning. All in all a great place to spend a few days.

The inn is now owned and run by twin brothers who were excellent hosts for our stay whilst visiting the area. The room we had was very clean and comfatable, and even has a four poster bed. The meals served both in the bar and restuarant were of the highest level, not sure where they have found the chef but first rate.
We would not hesitate in recommending this inn and look forward to visiting it again very soon.
