I was so excited about staying at The Apple Press and it exceeded my expectations!
From the moment we booked, Zoe was fantastically helpful - sending us details and talked us through things to do locally, good walks, pubs etc.
The cottage itself is beautifully presented, with lovely designed touches throughout. The fire earned the room perfectly and it was such a wonderful place just to relax and breathe in the country air!
There's some lovely walks in this area - we walked to The Bell pub (great food! Book at the weekend) in Ticehurst, which was about an hour or so away over fields.
Have already booked to go again!
Thank you Zoe and family!
We have been to Zoe's Hay Barn twice and plan on coming again soon. Its a perfect, cosy, bright and happy place, where we instantly feel relaxed and at ease to do as little as possible as a family. There are farm animals and a great hay barn play area for our 2yo to explore, and the facilities in the cottage are just right. A well equipped kitchen, comfy bedrooms, and a fantastic large lounge area with a wood fire and kids toys mean that we have everything we need away from home. Can't recommend this place enough - and can't wait to come again.
We spent four nights in The Hay Barn at Eatonden Manor Farm for half term, with our children aged 8/10. They loved the play barn with it's mound of hay bales to clamber over, and the wide open spaces to explore. We loved the cosy house with stylish interior details and a personal note on arrival. The log fire was lovely too on colder nights. Everything was clean and well presented, and the owners friendly and on hand if we needed anything.
There was plenty of explore nearby - we enjoyed St Leonards/Hastings, Bedgebury Pinetum, Go Ape, Port Lympne Safari Park and local cafes at Eggs to Apples and the King John Nursery.
We'd definitely come again.
This was our 3rd visit to Eatonden. With a young family, there is plenty to keep our kids amused; from puzzles and books indoors, to fun farm activities outside.
The Haybarn is perfectly appointed and we loved the personal touches and child friendly features. There is also plenty to do in the surrounding area, and easy to get to from London.
We’ll definitely be back again!
It was hard getting back to reality after leaving a little piece of paradise. Because that's exactly what the Apple Press is. Surroundings, setting & decoration are almost straight out of a movie set and very friendly hosts Zoe & Jim are there when you need them. You will regret it if you don't go there.
We stayed in the Hay Barn which was wonderful - it had a great feel about the place, the whole look was bold, original and fun, inside and out, whilst also being very stylish, welcoming and relaxing.
We walked through the fields near by which were full of stunning meadows and views. Sissinghurst was a must and was ever more fantastic than I imagined. We also went to forestry commission site for cycling which was also great.
We loved all the rooms in the barn, especially the kitchen. Zoe was friendly and helpful and you could see her style detail everywhere in the furnishings and decor. We loved the big fridge and the big kitchen table too.
We were two separate friends, so the two bedrooms suited us perfectly: glad we did not have to mess around making up the sofa beds on the ground floor.
We did not get the hang of the washing machine drier - just could not get it to dry clothes properly, but this was the only negative.
There is masses to do in the area and we had a wonderful 3 days.
