I had the unfortunate pleasure of staying at the De Rougemount Manor hotel on Saturday 02nd September with a work colleague. Corporate travel booked me a double room for single occupancy. Unfortunately I was allocated room 113 that turned out a small cleaning cupboard with a single bed. When I point out to the receptionist that a double room had been booked and showed her the confirmation paperwork, the answer that I got was that the hotel will take the matter up with the corporate travel booking company and get back to me. No apology or alternative room was offered by the hotel and I am still waiting for them to contact me and advise why I was given a single room.
In the restaurant, I ordered a medium rare steak. When it arrived, it was obvious that the chief must have work in a crematorium and was undergoing retraining. Needless to say, after this one visit, I will not be staying at this establishment again.More
