Dined here with a group of friends for Sunday lunch in this traditional moderately priced restaurant.

Very good old fashioned Sunday roast. All very traditional. Good sirloin of beef cooked rare as requested with decent fresh vegetables.

Price/quality ratio about right. Decent service. You can have better but that’s not to say that the food wasn’t good—it was. Overall recommended.

The restaurant was very busy for our family Sunday lunch, good atmosphere, though upstairs is a little ‘confined’ space wise. The service was really good, however food was only average. My Camembert starter was just warm as was our soup. Haddock Mornay tasted nice. Portion sizes looked generous. Overall ok but pricey based on food my experience.

We have been here a few times and, I would say without hesitation, that this is a really fantastic place to eat that dosent have to break the bank. If you are more budget conscious then the Set menus are a nice balance, this really provides an excellent taste of kitchens capabilities. Great venue for a family get together. Great place for a romantic dinner. I would recommend leaving the children with a baby sitter!

We have lived all over but when we return to the UK and to Chelmsford we always make time to dine at our favourite “The Blue Strawberry” (Last 10years plus) Our taxi let us down but a quick call to the team at TBS was all that was required and they accommodated us beautifully. It was our treat for the family this time around, with 6 dining. Quaint character building, pleasing decor and plenty to absorb the sound of chatter, not a modern clean-lined building that echoes sounds all over.
Service was fantastic as always from arrival drinks to wine and meal delivery. The food was wonderful, as it always has been. We enjoy the dining experience and The Blue Strawberry delivers this and then some, thank you so much and see you next time
