This establishment has changed hands many times over the 60 (yes, sixty) years since I last visited. In those days I was at College with the Landlord's son, and it was simply a village pub serving Brambridge.
Prompted to try it with friends who had pre booked a table for four adults and two dogs, we were delighted with the decision. The bar/dining are was pretty basic, just what I feel is 'right' for a village establishment. The landlady was 'in the kitchen' and the bar staff were friendly without being pushy.
There was an adequate choice of menu and dishes were sensibly priced for the more than adequate portions.
We will be back in weeks rather then years

Went out to grab a roast , initially to Toby carvery but an hour and a half wait we decided to try somewhere else. And came across this little gem , the place was full but got a drink up the bar for 10 mins max chose what we wanted whilst we waited . All came out very quick and staff were lovely . Roasts were lovely best we've had in a long time
Would def return
Place had a nice vibe

Stopped here for a last holiday lunch.
The pub smelt on entering and the menus were rather tatty.
The two female staff were lovely.
Ordered a burger, fish pie and a child's meal. No burgers available so ordered steak.
Fish pie arrived full of what seemed to be yesterday's left over veg.....celery, peas, carrots and topped with lumpy, stiff mashed potato.
When we saw the bill we were horrified.
Expensive, dull, food eaten while local radio played quite loudly in the background.
We will never return.
However there is an amazing pub/ restaurant a mile away on a lake with delicious food, great service and superb prices........

Stopped for lunch on the way to Southampton. Chose the pies, one chicken, one steak and one lamb all delicious! Served with choice of potato and plenty of vegetables. Big portions so make sure your hungry. I couldnt manage dessert which is unusual for me. We will definately be returning.

Very popular pub, which is always a dead cert. Great service, enthusiastic staff, a hug in a mug pub. Big car park. Pub well worth a visit as great food in cosy surroundings
