Stayed for 4 nights. This is a multi purpose hotel, catering mainly for business people during the week and families at the weekend. It feels a 'safe' hotel. This is the second time we have stayed here and feel it represents good value for money.
Our room was large with a sitting area, desk and TV and another TV in the bedroom, and lots of clothes hanging space and bathrobes and slippers. There was a fridge, with fresh milk, and a coffee machine as well as the usual tea making facilities. The bathroom was reasonably large and modern. The only complaint I had was that the overall lighting was too low for reading or working and things generally could do with a bit of updating. The air co was flexible and efficient.
Spa facilities are excellent and the pool a really good size with pleasant seating around which opened up to an outside sitting area should the weather be cooperative!
Breakfast too was excellent. It was served buffet style with lots of plentiful choice, a variety of types of milk and I noticed a separate 'gluten free' table of products.
We ate a couple of times in the evening and on both occasions the food was tasty and well prepared. and good value for money.
We've stayed before, and we' ll stay again. We were very comfortable.

Room tip: Try to get a junior suite - very spacious

Celebrated our golden wedding anniversary with a dinner for family and friends and cannot praise the staff enough. Everything ran smoothly, food came quickly and was enjoyed by everyone. Nothing was too much trouble and all our guests had a great evening. Several guests stayed over and all very happy. Only smal comment from some was that perhaps more staff would have been on for breakfast on Sunday morning as at times quite a queue for tables. However we all enjoyed our breakfast and particularly liked that hot food was served st the buffet.

Staying here on our return from Devon to break our journey. We had a really large room with sofa seating area along with a large bed. There are nice touches, like a fridge in the room with a small carton of fresh milk and bottles of water. My partner tried the indoor pool and sauna, and was suitably impressed. Breakfast was good, but not very hot. We had dinner, which was with mixed reviews. My paella was good and a very generous portion, whereas my partner had lamb cutlets, which consisted of two cutlets and generally a very meagre portion for £18.
The hotel is very good, and we will definitely return, but the restaurant could be improved.

This was a very disappointing experience. This is supposed to be a high quality hotel but our stay did not start well when we discovered there was mould around the bath and taps. After complaining we were given another room which was much cleaner but why do the cleaners not either report the problem before the guests find it or even better, clean the room properly. At £111 for a double room i don't expect mould!

The second room however had a more serious problem. Both the taps in the sink were faulty and when they were opened the entire tap barrel was unscrewing, not just the tap spindle. If the tap had been turned too far the whole tap would have come apart with uncontrolled, extremely hot, water spurting from the tap handle.
It would not have been safe or practical to stop the leak so would have ended up flooding the bathroom. At worst this could have caused serious burning given the water temperature.
Although this fault was pointed out to the hotel management at about 5pm nothing was done even though I showed them a video of the fault. Our friends reported that they had the same problem in their room!
We had pre-paid for breakfast £12.95 each, but even this was a disappointment. The scrambled egg was virtually inedible- a solid mess which looked like it was made with powdered egg. A breakfast at a Premier Inn is far cheaper and in reality a lot better.
Overall it seems like there is a lack of management attention at this hotel. The service in the bar was sloppy and unprofessional- we had to ask for someone to take our drinks order even though there were staff behind the bar who had seen us but seemed oblivious to having waiting customers.

I could not recommend this as a place to stay.

Thank you for your constructive feedback regarding your stay with us.

Some of rooms are slightly dated and we are currently in a three year refurbishment plan for all of our bedrooms to be updated. We have a dedicated maintenance team on hand who carry out routine checks on our bedrooms. I do apologies that this time the issues with your taps was not picked up and the cleaning of the rooms will definitely be addressed with our housekeeping team.

With regards to the service comments I will pick this up with our Food & Beverage Team and ensure we look at our training procedures to improve upon.

If you would like to contact me directly at the Hotel I would happy to discuss your feedback.

Kind regards,

Plentiful parking and swift check in.
Room was of a high standard with a great shower and ample space for the 4 of us.
The restaurant and bar were very busy but we got lovely meals even though we hadn't booked a table in advance.
Prices were very fair and staff were excellent
We stayed here prior to boarding our cruise liner at Southampton and it started our holiday off in the best possible way
Would definitely recommend.
