Friendly welcome. Room was very clean & nicely decorated with a lovely large shower. Paul and the rest of the staff were very welcoming & accomodating. The highlight of our stay has to be the superb breakfast in the conservatory. We would highly recommend this lovely little hotel.

This hotel was ideally placed for me to take a young man to the Dorset Orthopeadic Clinic. The staff were very attentive but there were certain things that had I been on holiday would not have been ideal for me. The first room I stayed in (room 2) had a huge window - but it was frosted glass which was bizarre - it felt very strange not being able to see out of the window. There was very low light in the room and no lamp on the dressing table and over all the room was dull - I am sure the frosted window did not help! Still I was not on holiday so it wasnt important. The food was good quality and plenty of it. Creaky stairs and slamming doors did not give a great early night. On my 2nd part of the stay I was in room 20 up very steep stairs and the plumbing in one of the rooms nearby sounded as if there was a train coming - thumping pipes. The window in this room was a huge roof light so again views outside were limited and the double glazing has bad condensation in it.
I thought it was a little expensive for the standard of the decor.

Room Tip: do not have 2 or 20 if you want a view!

Just back from a great break. Hotel staff welcoming despite being full. Room 16 at the top of two flights was lovely and quiet. Magazine choice up to date and a real luxury. Stairs no problem. Room clean and spacious even though we were at the top. Breakfast was very good, fruit, cereal, crossiants and extensive cooked choice. Juice, toast tea, coffee. It kept coming and was more than we could eat. 5 mins walk to the village. We ate at the Mailman arms. Excellent steak and good value.
We will be back as we were made to feel so welcome. Thanks Ormonde house.

Room Tip: Back rooms peacefull

We had a spacious, comfortable double room with a wonderful bed, sparkling en suite and felt welcomed by all the staff during our short stay. We had one very good evening meal, breakfast was promptly served, good choice. The small lounge was comfortable, nice conservatory and garden in front. The hotel is a five minute walk from the edge of Lyndhurst so well situated and allows dogs, yet was very clean throughout.

Room Tip: The stairs to the first floor might have been a bit steep for some

Visiting Bournemouth Ch dog show this was a speculative choice as we had no idea what it was going to be like. It is near a very busy road but that did not bother us too much. The ground floor studio room was ideal for the dogs, with it own kitchenette and washing machine. Great breakfast. The staff were very helpful, would definitely return.

Room Tip: You need a garden room if you have dogs

we found ormonde house to be a very friendly and well run hotel the room/ king size bed was extremely comfortable and the full english breakfast especially the duck eggs were the best we have tasted. the new forest was the view we woke up to from our bedroom window each morning which was absolutely gorgeous as you can imagine. the staff were very pet freindly and there were several dogs staying at the hotel lyndhusrt town was an easy 10 minute walk away and has lots of places to eat and drink.

Room Tip: we paid an extra £10 per night to have a superior double room which was well worth it as the room wa...
