My son booked this farmhouse/cottage for a family weekend of 7 adults & 2 youngsters. We live in different locations so don’t often get together in one place, but after this experience I hope it becomes an annual event!
The accommodation is brilliant - clean, comfortable, every possible eventuality covered by Penny & Brian, the very thoughtful owners. The ‘welcome pack’ in the well equipped kitchen included fruit, tea bags, milk & a homemade cake. There was a selection of recipe books, ideas for days out or eat out. As much crockery, glassware & batterie de cuisine you could possibly need. Beds were SO comfy and plenty of hot water. In the lounge & the snug there was a selection of books, games, drawing materials for children, TVs, and the garden outside was well planted, and equipped with large table & chairs.
We visited Ludlow - charming historic town, Saturday market, nice river walk. Also Hampton Court Castle - beautiful grounds & gardens by R Teme. On way home Sunday stopped at Stockton Bury Gardens for lunch - exquisite gardens, lovely food in the cafe - definite must visit.
Fabulous weekend, superb venue. Thanks Penny & Brian!!
Absolutely amazing. Big thanks to my family of 13 who knew exactly what i wanted for my 60th. Huge huge thank you to Penny and Brian for letting us hire this fantastic house. The welcome pack is amazing. We felt immediately at home in this spacious and comfortable house in a spectacular setting. Top recommendation on caters too: Really Scrumptious, excellent Sunday roast. Roll on 61, cant come soon enough. We will be back.
This is a stunning house and richly deserves our five-star assessment.
We fell in love with it the moment we started to explore it, going from room to room with exclamations of delight. Indeed, every single one of the visitors who came here during our week-long stay to celebrate our Golden Wedding, said it was the most attractive holiday house they had ever seen, and they all wanted to move in permanently! It has a warm, welcoming feel and is beautifully presented, furnished and equipped.
There are glorious views from the windows when it isn't raining, though the rain during our stay did create a lovely photograph of a rainbow over the property. We thought it was an omen!
Combined with The Cider House next door the house makes an excellent venue for a large gathering of friends and family.
The farmhouse is deceptively large and it became a joke that newcomers got lost as they tried to negotiate their way round the ground floor.
Nothing was too much trouble for the owners, Bryan and Penny, and we really enjoyed our talks with them. Their kindness and attention to detail was superb. It was nice to see all the horses and ponies in the surrounding fields and the nearby stables, and to make friends with the owner's dogs. (However, if you don't like dogs, or want to take your own, the property is extremely well-fenced.)
We cannot recommend this place highly enough, and are trying to think of an excuse to go back again!
