“Another wonderful stay”
Reviewed October 25, 2015 for a stay in October 2015

We stayed at The Medlar 2 years ago and loved it so much we had to come back again. It did not disappoint. It is a really lovely quirky old cottage full of history. It dates back to the middle ages. Fully equipped and comfortable we couldn't ask for more.
We will be back again!!

“Quirky well equipped cottage.”
Reviewed September 2, 2015 for a stay in August 2015

Excellent cottage, very clean and well equipped. The stairs were very novel and certainly not suitable for small children although my visiting 3 year old grandson loved it and used his bottom!!

“Character and Charm”
Reviewed August 31, 2015 for a stay in August 2015

My husband and I have recently had a delightful few days at The Medlar in Kington. A charming characterful cottage - with all the modern luxuries in a beautiful setting. It was a perfect base from which to travel around. We would certainly stay again - highly recommended. Penny & Tony C.

Just returned from a long weekend at The Medlar .The House exceeded all expectations. It retains all the character of its 400 years. It is spacious, yet cosy, lovingly restored and lacking nothing. There is a lovely courtyard garden for warmer days with garden furniture. Kington is a lovely town, a step back in history, with independent shops, pubs and cafes. Beuatiful walks from the doorstep and plenty to see futher afield. Highly recommended.

“Quality historical cottage done beautifully.”
Reviewed August 12, 2014 for a stay in August 2014

We loved this cottage. It has been restored and decorated beautifully and to a very high standard. Just what you need for a quiet get away. Lots of good little extras like books and games. Take your own Nespresso capsules if you have them.

“Perfect break”

We stayed for a week in January with our dog and didn't want to go home!. Beautiful old house that has been brought back to life with care but with all the mod cons.
Conveniently situated just off the high street for everyday needs but so quiet you think you are in the country. The Medlar was made very warm and cosy for our stay and has a great log burner.
Plenty of take aways' nearby and local produce shops. Pubs in walking distance (The Olde Tavern is the best) Lots of walks nearby or a short car journey away.
The owners were very accommodating with extra requests and had thought of everything for an enjoyable stay.
