Amazingly good service. Cake was delicious. Wonderful to sit outside with the birds tweeting. Lots of walkers and cyclists and folks who are visiting the nearby nature reserve. I've walked here from Berkhamsted so this is a good stopping point at 5.5 miles into my walk. Parking nearby. Good toilets.

Thank Caroline B

Have tried several times to have a coffee and cake here - or breakfast - but rarely possible to get a seat. There are often large groups of people sitting outside, spread over several tables and allowing limited access. Long queues to get food and then nowhere to sit means we now tend to go elsewhere - other good options nearby.

We are sorry that your visit was not a good one.

We have now changed the layout of the Tearoom to accommodate as many guests as possible, we have also added further seating in the garden to help with this.

Has this cafe changed hands, it used to be brilliant. Went today for a Mothers Day treat. 40 min wait for food, but not that busy. Happy to wait though, in the past it has been worth the wait. Really fancied eggs benedict but they wouldn't do it as it was on the breakfast menu. So had a tuna sandwich on granary, no granary bread left. When it came the bread was quite stale. My son ordered cod and chips from childrens menu. Chips were superb but the nearest the fish nuggets got to being fish was the shape of them. The table was a mess so I asked for a cloth and spray to clean it. Was given some blue roll and left to get on with it. If you are the same owners please take it back to what it was a couple of years ago.

Thank-you for your comments, we are sorry that your visit to Bluebells was a poor experience and will take all your comments on board.

The owner has indeed take back tenancy of the restaurant and is making changes to the menu, ingredients and ambience of the tea rooms.

We hope to see you soon to see that we might ask you to improve your review.

This is a cheap canalside cafe-you get what you pay for-nothing grand but what you would expect from a cafe.If you want to stop for a break when walking along the Grand Union canal and want a cup of tea,a bacon bap this is fine but don't expect grand dining. The staff are friendly but how do they cope with such a small kitchen.

Today took my father in for lunch having been to tringford museum. Choice for lunch not extensive. Quality of beef in sandwich was definitely packet and not very good. Youngster s serving are pleasant enough but tables quite close together . The tiny kitchen looks totally inadequate , cant imagine how they cope when they are busy. Dirty plates all stacked up as soon as you walk in. No clean glasses for drinks. Just over £25 for three people for sandwich and drink, not impressed.
