A short drive after visited Biddenden; the pub has a lot of parking spaces and located in convenient location. Inside is very historical though outside seatings can be improved. Cooking is mid above average with really good portion size (big) but the skill level is towards average cooking I feel.

We do love this pub for all it’s character but after nearly 20 years of visiting, 80% of the menu is exactly the same. Which gets a little boring when you’ve tried everything! The food was lovely and every table was full but my goodness me they need more front of house staff. Tables waiting to be cleared, 20 minutes waiting for our table that was booked but the staff are lovely. Just need more of them! How the bar can be left unattended to wait tables is crazy for a drinking pub. Management need to sort this before another visit.

Well worth the drive to this pub. The food is local and the chef is amazing. Not inexpensive but a wonderful spot to celebrate special occasions. I agree with the many previous comments on trip advisory recommending it.

A big surprise. This was an absolutely superb meal. We arrived late. But they managed to find us a table despite the fact that they were catering for a big group. They apologised if the service was a bit slow. It wasn't.
We started with a large grilled mushroom in garlic with a slab of warm goats cheese and deliciously dressed salad. Huge and tasty. Then a salmon dish with potato and green salad. A magical serving of stunningly delicate perfectly cooked fish and boy what a large serving. The two of us who had these two dishes were both so happy. Truly good cooking. My wife had cod which was also very good.
It has been a while since we ate here and the menu is now so much more varied and very well thought out. It has gone away from the very meaty fayre of the past mainly red meat, steaks, chops and burgers. They are to be congratulated. Still licking my chops at the thought of the food. This is the best fish we have had since Pinnies at Orford some months ago.
