We stayed here for the second time with our 3 young children and had a fabulous time. The site is lovely and safe for kids and we made use of the pool and the playground. The chalet was well equipped and had plenty of space for us all. We felt very much at home and hope to stay here again. The children found it extremely exciting staying in the ' triangle house' and are already asking if we can go back.
Would recommend bringing blackout blinds for the bedrooms if you have children that need to sleep in darkness as the rooms get quite a lot of light. We used our travel ones and everyone slept very well!
Particularly appreciated the babygates on the stairs as we had a little crawler with us and it felt nice and safe for him.
We came back to stay at the Chalet for the kids half term. Great visit again and we were very lucky with the weather and had a wonderful time. Would highly recommend! Andreas was very helpful.
We were so happy with #136 Chalet at the Kingsdown Holiday Park in Kingsdown, near Deal, Kent. We loved the sun streaming through the big windows to the front, the cherry tree, the birds singing, the sounds of waves, the closeness to the village and town for numerous walks and excellent pubs.
The Chalet was perfect for us with it charming decorations, fully stocked kitchen, satellite tv, and underfloor heating. It truly felt like a home away from home.
Thank you to our landlord, Andreas M for answering all our questions and his welcome at the beginning. Thank you as well to Sharon the receptionist/manager at the Park who kindly showed us to our Chalet. Will definitely be returning against. Thank you.
We stayed with our family (2 adults, 3 kids from 8-13 years old) for a week in Deal in May 2016. At arrival, there was a bit confusion, as we didn't had information where to find the key, but Andreas is very keen on answering his email and voicemail. Splendid!
A fully provided kitchen, a very comfortable bed, a superb sofa, and the kids enjoyed the cuddly toys! The room upstairs was great for them. With the extended livingroom, we had enough space for the 5 of us. The kids made friends on the park (both Dutch and English).
We've been busy, visiting castles (Deal, Dover, Walmer), Roman ruines (Richborough fort and amphitheatre, Lullingstone Roman Villa), Canterbury (Cathedral and St. Augestine's Abbey) and Down House (home of Charles Darwin). Except from Canterbury Cathedral, all can be visited with an English Heritage oversees visitors pass. We would highly recommend this for oversees visitors!
If we have to give some comments: upstairs coud use some darker curtains (for kids to fall asleep easier). We had beautiful weather, even had breakfast outside, but it was hard to put the table and chairs straight. And last, it was a bit of a disappointment to find out the swimmingpool is open only during daytime (closed for lunch). After a day away, there was no time for the kids to go for a swim. It's not a great deal, but we had another experience the year before somewhere else.
We've stayed for a week at the wonderful chalet 136 in Kingsdown. Had all the amneties you need. Our little boy loved the indoor pool and enough space to play inside the chalet. Great location - close to parking spaces. Great communication with the owner. Would love to stay there again.
Great short stay break. Would highly recommend! The Chalet has all the basic things you would need. We had a 2yr old and a 4yr old with us and having the stair gates supplied really helped. They both had great fun too!
