Great beer, friendly bar stuff, great music, chilled atmosphere. Nothing more to say, will always visit here for a drink when out in margate.

Second visit here, good beers and welcoming atmosphere. Pie and mash looked and smelt good but we didn’t have time for food - we’ll be back!

Popped in midweek for lunch.

It looks like a traditional and old fashioned boozer and doesn't disappoint.

Lots of wood, big tables, comfortable seating. Large open fire. A mix of old and new, the new being a zinc bar, beer barrels cut in half for lights, aluminium stools.

Large range of beers and craft beers, polypins of cider.

I had a really nice IPA.

Luncheon consisted of steak and ale pie, haddock pie, veggie chilli pie and a goats cheese and something or other pie, all with mash and gravy for £8 each.

Food was lovely, hot and tasty. I wish I had tried the cheeses.

The barman was a tad distant but was also cooking so he was missing from the bar a lot.

As it is craft beer it is more expensive ( just because they can) and that is one reason it gets a good, the other was the lack of staff. One other and it would have got a very good. Cheaper beer would also have got that.

I would, however, spend an evening there taking their ale, it is that good.

Initially difficult to work out what this place was about but it was occupied by a cross section of customers. Loads of diffferent beers and ciders with an informative bar person who gave us a taster of those we were interested in before we committed. Liked the saw dust on the floor but the ladies loo could’ve beneiftted from some attention in the cleaning department.

We were tempted in by the long list of pies offered but it was far too cold inside to think of eating. We will give it another try when it is warmer! Wide range of beers and a lovely hot chocolate!
