Twelve of us attended on NYE. we were asked to be there for 19.45 which we were and went straight into the party room. We found our table and sat down. The room was decorated very nicely. We were then told the room wasn't ready and wouldn't be until 20.45 and we should wait in the bar area. Everyone was very smart, the ladiies in evening gowns and gents in tux's.
We eventually got to our table and were served pate for starter, this was very nice. We had to go to the bar for our drinks which was fine but there was only two bar staff and they had to keep going off to get more supplies, so service was very slow.
Main course was roast beef which was lovely as were the roasties but the new spuds and veg were hard....not good. I spoke to others from another table and they said the same.
We were served chocolate baileys cheesecake for desert. We weren't offered a choice which rather annoyed me as several of us would of had the cheese and biscuits....
We finished dining at 22.30 or thereabouts and the disco started.
The dance floor is far too small for the amount of people though. The Scottish piper played in the new year which was nice. Carriages at 1am. everyone seemed to enjoy themselves despite the little niggles.......More
