Stayed at this hotel 4 nights (Mon-Fri) in my home town while waiting for our new house to be ready to move into. It was just as I'd expect from Premier Inn, immaculate, comfortable and with great staff. It's very difficult to find a family room anywhere else in Grimsby and to be fair there is not much choice in the town for reasonably priced, modern facilities so the Premier Inn is the only place which ticks most of those boxes. No wonder it seemed to be popular and no wonder that the room rates are slightly higher than I'd normally pay at a Premier Inn outside of a big city on week nights, of course if we'd planned and booked ahead we may have got a better rate. The fact that it appears to be busy doesn't detract from a good night's sleep.
The Brewers Fayre next door serves the delicious Premier Inn breakfast... well worth the £8.95 for all you can eat from continental and cooked selections... they are as always with Premier Inn very good value and quality and served by really pleasant staff. Also the free child breakfast is a bonus.
We ate here every morning and evening and were not disappointed, it's quite busy in the evening but after about 8pm it seems to be just hotel guests left so it was a good time to pop in and have dinner and chat to other guests.
The only downside with location is that it's a bit out of the way for Grimsby or Cleethorpes centres, but perfectly placed for the more industrial areas. Driving is a must if you don't want to spend on taxis, but a taxi into the town centre was less than a fiver each way and about £8 each way to Cleethorpes clubs and bars. There is no public transport near the hotel and it's not very pedestrian friendly either.
There was a huge flat screen TV in our room and lots of tea and coffee making bits and pieces and the fab Premier Inn hair dryers, they are the best hotel hair dryers I've ever used.
Wifi was free in the Brewers Fayre next door and was very fast, in rooms you can have the 30mins per day free access or pay £3 for 24 hours access. The only problem we found was that our laptop would only pick up a signal (and a very weak one at that) from one corner of the room which was a bit frustrating but nothing major but had we needed internet access for anything important it would have been a problem as we couldn't get a signal at the room desk. We didn't complain as it wasn't a big deal to us but I'm sure if we had there would have been a solution to hand.
Recommended as a stop over in Grimsby and for a place to put up corporate clients.
