We stayed at Skendleby Hall for our annual holiday of our extended family (c. 24 people). In 12 years of holidays, Skendleby Hall is the best house we have stayed in. In particular we appreciated the ensuite bathrooms with every room, the vast array of entertainment for everyone from babies to grandparents, the really well equipped kitchen, the beautiful dining room that easily accommodated us all, the outstanding grounds, the karaoke (!), the sauna, the beautiful drawing room where we celebrated a Golden Wedding, a recent marriage and an engagement, the pub a very short walk away, the very helpful owners....Only niggle was issues with wifi which meant we had 3 days with no broadband but we survived! It was a wonderful place to stay and gave us our best holiday as a family to date. Thank you to David and Ruth.

“Fantastic venue for Corporate Event”
Reviewed 19 March 2014 for a stay in February 2014

Skendleby Hall is a beautiful venue, and the service and assistance we received from the owner, Ruth, was fantastic. We held our 2 day Team Building event at the hall, it provided a beautfully maintained, spacious and relaxed environment in which we were able to focus on our purpose as a team. There were 2 well equipped kitchens and a huge dining room allowing us to spend time cooking and eating together and we also managed to fit in some team Billiards and Karaoke!!! I would highly recommend this venue, it made a refreshing change to the usual hotel based meetings.

“Sensational Skendleby Christmas”

My family and I celebrated a truly memorable Christmas in this fabulous Hall. With 22 grown ups, 5 children, 2 babies, 2 Labradors (and a partridge in a pear tree) there was ample room for us to relax and have fun as well as manage the catering for such a large brood. The Hall has two large well equipped kitchens with plenty of storage space, fridges and freezers. Tastefully decorated for the festive season there were carols around the piano in the Music Room and watching all the children open their presents from Father Chrismas by the fireplace in the enormous Drawing Room on Christmas morning was magical. The children made good use of the Games Rooms while the Billiards Room was a hit with the grown ups.
The owners, Ruth and David, extended a very warm welcome to us and were on hand when we needed them but generally left us to enjoy the Hall. We partook of their suggestions and had a brilliant morning of clay target shooting and a great day out at the races in Market Rasen. We cannot thank them enough and I certainly hope to return to the Hall and the scenic Lincolnshire Wolds again.

“Roomy, comfortable, plenty to do”
Reviewed 1 December 2013 for a stay in November 2013

We rented Skendleby Hall for our 40th wedding anniversary and were not disappointed.

The place is huge and you get the run of it. The children loved it, we lost them for hours as they explored or played up in the toy and games rooms. This was a bonus for the parents as they enjojed a relaxing time. Even though we had a large party of 29 in total it never seemed crowded and was comfortable for all.

The girls enjoyed a day of pampering by Sarah, the chaps had an enjoyable mornings shooting with David, and Jen gave us two excellent stress free meals. All this was facillitated by the ever helpful Ruth, Gillian and David.

It was an experience of a life time I would heartily recommend it.

“Beautiful large house perfect for a large family and friends get together”
Reviewed 13 November 2013 for a stay in November 2013

I booked Skendleby Hall for a weekend to celebrate my 40th birthday with family and friends and the house was just perfect.

We had the master bedroom, it is the largest bedroom/suite I have ever stayed in. The bed was so comfortable and duvet and pillows perfect, with beautiful furnishings to compliment the age of the house. The dressing room and en suite bathroom was amazing, the bath was huge.

We catered for ourselves on Friday and Saturday and found the kitchen to be well stocked with pots, pans and utensils. For my birthday on the Sunday we used Jen of Skendleby Catering and I would highly recommend her, the food was plentiful and very tasty. Because the dinning room and table was so big and seated all the adults, it made my 40th birthday very special and one I will definitely remember.

The drawing room was an excellent large room for everyone to gather in the evening where we danced the night away. There is a great music system that you can plug your own Ipod into. The fireplace is amazing.

We had a wonder up to the local pub The Blacksmiths Arms on the Saturday night and watched the wonderful firework display they put on, the pub is like a tardis!

The children absolutely loved wondering round the house and was a brilliant place for them to play hide and seek. We did a treasure hunt around the house which kept the children amused for a long time. They all can't wait to go back!

Overall Skendleby Hall was a brilliant place, it definitely has the WOW factor and we would love to return. Thank you Ruth, Gillian and David.

“Fantastic weekend in an incredible property!”
Reviewed 11 November 2013 for a stay in November 2013

16 of us stayed at Skendleby Hall this past weekend, and we had an absolutely fantastic few days.

The property is enormous with lots of character and all amenities you could possibly require. The Hall is set in private grounds overlooking some beautiful countryside, located in the small village of Skendleby. We were met by one of the owners upon arrival and given the tour of the property. I think all the bedrooms bar one had an ensuite and all were ranging from decent sized to enormous!

We arranged some clay-pigeon shooting via the property's owners which took place nearby, and was brilliant fun. The rest of the weekend we relaxed and enjoyed the use of the house, watching TV, singing karaoke or playing snooker on the full-sized table.

The owners were great and easy to deal with and very helpful with recommendations for local knowledge. It's genuinely a fantastic place to come and I would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone, whether a family or a large group.

“Perfect venue for a 40th Birthday Weekend!”
Reviewed 3 November 2013 for a stay in November 2013

Skendlby Hall is set in beautiful grounds and is the perfect place for family and friends get together. However, the bedrooms in the servent's quarters at the back of the house do not compare with the rooms within the main part of the house. The room we stayed in had an odour with the curtains and bed throws in need of a good clean, especially around the edges of the carpet. If the cleanliness was improved Skendlby Hall would get 10 out of 10.
