Great communication by the hotel upon booking (all done via email with speedy polite replies)
On the day we were politely greeted by a lovely girl who knew what we were booked in for before I even said.
The afternoon tea was lovely, great selection and very filling, topped off by a refreshing glass of fizzy-very nice.
We then used the leisure facilities-pool, sauna & steam room. All very compact but does the job it's meant to. A very relaxing time.
Could do with another shower in the women's changing rooms, there's only 1 and four of us waiting to use it makes for bit of a wait.

Thank you for taking the time to review the hotel and delighted that the booking and reception was all dealt with efficiently and that you enjoyed the afternoon tea. We would love to be able to make the changing rooms larger with more facilities and it is in the long term plans.

Kind Regards

Stopped there as part of a very large group with different needs.
All were only there one night but some had to leave at 3.30am.
Amazingly they brought the chef in so that they could have a proper cooked breakfast.
He got a round of applause.
My room was humungous. Didn't try the pool as I was too tired.

We stayed overnight on Sunday as part of a coach party on our way to the Highlands.

Our room was a superior suite and deserved the name. Large sitting room with a good sized flat screen TV wall mounted in direct line of sight of the large 3 seater settee, large picture windows with a great view of the grounds and wandering hens!

The bedroom was also spacious with its own TV and the en suite had both bath and walk-in shower. The bed was comfortable and we had a good nights sleep.

The evening meal we had pre chosen from the "table de hote" menu on arrival and I was surprised to see my chicken liver pate was a "rosy" colour indicating a not overcooked meat. The taste was fantastic and after finding the chef was French I understood the cooking of the pate - just as I like my liver! The rest of dinner was very good and breakfast also very good.

This stay was the best experience of the whole holiday and we cannot recommend this hotel enough - well worth a detour to stay here.

Room Tip: Ground floor superior suites are excellent

This was our second trip for afternoon tea at foxfields. We chose to take our grandma for her birthday as it had so good on our first visit. Again the staff where wonderful and professional. I didn't feel our afternoon tea was as good as our first visit the scones seem to have halved in size ( fresh and delicious non the less) and it was missing a few little extras like the little savoury tart and lemon syllabub we had on our first visit. We had a great time and the tea was adequate just missing some of the pizzazz it had on our first visit.

Thank you for your review and delighted that you returned to us. We do vary the items for our afternoon teas to enable our guests to try different items - and I'm sorry that you were a little bit disappointed. However as our Chef makes everything fresh he would always be able to make your favourite items provided you mentioned it at the reservation stage. We will very soon be offering a "festive afternoon tea" which will be on our web site so please keep an eye out for it or call the hotel directly for more information - we would really love to see you again.

We stayed here for one night on 4 September 2015 as we were attending a wedding at Mytton Fold. The first thing you notice is the beautiful setting, the second the size of the place, it is huge and finally when you walk into reception, the lovely greeting, friendly faces and you instantly feel relaxed. Our room was large and although dated in style it was clean and really comfortable. The bathroom was huge and the shower was fabulous.

We had our evening meal at the hotel which was wonderful, they were brilliant with my 5 year old and suggested bringing him nuggets and chips - what he actually got was a very generous portion of excellent quality chicken goujons, chips, beans and the obligatory pot of ketchup - happy child, happy parents.

My husband had a little problem when he realised that he had ironed the front of his shirt and not the back! The receptionist once again was brilliant and whilst we were eating an ironing board and iron were delivered to the room!

We all had a lovely sleep in very comfortable beds and then had a brilliant breakfast with plenty of choice and food cooked to order.

All in all, a lovely stay at a lovely hotel with staff who are a credit to them.

Thank you for your lovely review I will ensure that all the staff see your comments, I am delighted that you all enjoyed your stay hopefully you will return and have more time to enjoy all the hotel's facilities - I'm sure the swimming pool would be thoroughly enjoyed by your 5 year old and yourselves.
