There was a group of 9 of us booked up for the murder mystery evening,
It’s well worth a try,
The hotel is great, staff and owners are friendly,
The hotel has numerous open log fires making it fantastic for cold winter nights.
If you do visit the a walk around the grounds is a must, the gardens have great features and the woodland walk is great( make sure you have some shoes to get dirty)
The hotel is settled in a beautiful little village. The murder mystery itself was a good laugh as a big group after a few drinks, however hard to agree as a big group too,
You need to be aware of everything as some things are too subtle to notice with out paying attention.
The food was fantastic
Starters were blue cheese tart with rocket salad most of the group turned their nose up at first including myself but still tried it and it was surprisingly good,
The duck breast was so succulent and juicy, the veg was cooked perfectly, they went with good old sticky toffee pudding as desert which pleases almost anyone.
Only things that Let the evening / hotel down was
There was no menu giving prior to arrival, and no options incase some one didn’t like a course or was vegetarian, one of us were after speaking to staff they quickly changed the order with out hassle but would be nice...There was a group of 9 of us booked up for the murder mystery evening,

And secondly me and my partner being a young couple in our early 20’s did notice there are renovated rooms which we asked for, understandably we had it at discount price so weren’t fussy as they will keep these rooms for full cost customers, we got to our room ,it was dated furnisher which keeps in with the feel for the room but not our preference after looking at the new rooms, however it had freshly been paint, the room was clean and the bed was so comfortable all the things that really matter in a hotel more then furnishings.
We made a bit of noise late at night in one of the rooms, whilst a bride to be was under us,
The night staff rather then complain and threaten us was actually polite and apologised for disturbing us and asked us to keep the noise down,
Which we did but to be safe we changed room too just to be sure.
Overall a great stay and made to feel welcome
