“A gem of an apartment in a jewel of a town.”
Reviewed July 27, 2014 for a stay in July 2014

Few apartments meet such a high level of excellence. From the moment we booked, nothing was too much trouble and the welcome basket set the tone for an outstanding stay. The Middle'in is simply the standard to which all accommodation should aspire and Joanna clearly deserves her excellent reputation. This really became a second home and is an fabulous base to reach most of the county. Earlier reviews highlight the lack of wifi but if you are with bt this is not the case. However, I would suggest leaving the laptop at home and replace with a glass of wine whilst enjoying the view of the castle!

Can only repeat what others have said, lovely clean and exeptionally well equipped! Location excellent, no probs parking with permit. Had a brilliant week. The welcome basket and fresh flowers were a nice touch and even tea sugar and pint of milk in fridge! A great base for exploring Northumberland. Chillingham Castle was our favourite!

“Excellent apartment”
Reviewed July 7, 2014 for a stay in June 2014

Great location overlooking Alnwick Castle bastion. Very clean and comfortable accommodation (especially the large bed) with everything you need - just like home. The welcome pack was much appreciated and a lovely vase of fresh roses was provided. Travelling around Northumberland was a breeze compared to the West Midlands. Even the B roads were in good condition and well sign posted. We were lucky with the weather all week and did a lot of walking around some of the many attractions in the area. These included Alnwick Castle & Gardens, Bamburgh Castle & coast, Cragside, Berwick, Belsay Hall, Wallington Hall, Warkworth Castle and Morpeth. We found the local people to be very friendly so a great week!

“Perfect location for site- seeing in Northumberland”
Reviewed June 23, 2014 for a stay in June 2014

Really comfortable stay in perfect location for seeing all the sites in Northumberland. Lovely apartment with all amenities you need. No Wi Fi but plenty of free available in local hostelries, the best being Barter Books, one of the largest book shops in the UK, serving good food & drinks if required, or help yourself to tea or coffee only 30p in honesty box. Highlights of the week - Holy Island, Bamburgh Castle, Craster ( Kippers from the smoke house restaurant)' Hadrian's Wall - Housesteads, Cragside , Alnwick Castle & Gardens, Durham Cathedral.
A week wasn't long enough, so much more to see & do. We will be back.

“Lovely Apartment in Perfect Location”
Reviewed May 23, 2014 for a stay in May 2014

As others have said, this is a lovely, very comfortable apartment - bed is huge and the lounge is comfortable. Good, large TV with Freeview. Well equipped kitchen. All the admin organisation worked out well - picking up of keys and parking pass, deposit return etc. There are lots of maps and info in the flat as well, providing ideas of what to do in the surrounding area. Only downside really is lack of WiFi but we found that there is BT Fon WiFi coverage in the flat - we were able to do "5 days for 18 pounds" deal, which worked extremely well (until signal disappeared completely on last day for whatever reason).

Anyway, the flat is great and the location is absolutely perfect - we would highly recommend it and may well go back.

“Wonderful week”
Reviewed April 27, 2014 for a stay in April 2014

We spent a week in Alnwick staying at this flat. It was ideally situated directly opposite the gate in to Alnwick Castle - well worth a visit to both gardens and castle - and close to the centre of the town. The flat was clean and well appointed with everything we needed. A parking permit was provided for spaces just round the corner. The weather was kind to us and we had a wonderful sunny tour around Northumberland. Would definitely go back and recommend to friends.

“Perfect location for both Alnwick town centre and the surrounding area”

Fantastic property located just a couple of minutes walk from the town centre, directly opposite the castle gates. Free, on-street parking just around the corner using the parking permit provided.

Smallish but well-proportioned extremely clean one bedroom flat, fully equipped with a very nice touch of a ‘Welcome Basket’. Excellent spot to explore the surrounding villages and beautiful coast-line with numerous scenic walking opportunities with several welcoming excellent pubs overlooking the coast. Alternatively, leave the car and walk around the compact town of Alnwick which has numerous eating and drinking venues, Alnwick Playhouse, the ‘Treehouse’, Hulne Park etc.

I really can’t find fault with this property, especially given the great weekly rates.
