“Staying in Northumberland”
Reviewed June 12, 2014 for a stay in May 2014

The Haven is an amazing place to stay. The owners have thought of everything and some lovely extra touches to make this a perfect holiday home. There is so much space and light. Perfect for family and friends. We had lovely weather but even if we hadn't, staying inside was not a problem. Lots to do, from playing pool or table football to relaxing with a book or one of the many films available. Beautiful views from most of the extensive windows and balconies. Cant wait to go back.

“The house is amazing with the whole accommodation equipped to a very high standard.”
Reviewed May 27, 2014 for a stay in May 2014

The house is amazing with the whole accommodation equipped to a very high standard. Absolutely spotless and everything smelt incredible. Every room is decorated beautifully with big windows and balconies right round the house. Waking up to the view of the sea really is the best way to start the day. We made good use of the fully equipped modern kitchen/lounge area. The location is ideal with the village about a 3 minute walk away. The house has fantastic facilities for all ages. Also, not only is the beach on your doorstep, but there are two lovely pub/restaurants are nearby.

“Great Place, Great Holiday!”
Reviewed April 24, 2014 for a stay in April 2014

From the first sight of the house, the elegant exterior, to the pristine and stylish interior, to the generous welcome pack, our arrival at the house set the tone for what turned out to be a fantastic family holiday.

There were several children (including a teenager) in our party and there were so many things to occupy them that the adults were left in peace to enjoy the beauty of the views, from the balconies and in more magnificent detail through the telescope set up on the top floor. The pool table proved a great success, as did the array of games and the spa bath which was variously described as 'Mega' 'Mint' and Oh cool!' Even our teenage grandson deigned to join the 'kids' in it.

The beach, with its rockpools is just over the road, and we did a lovely walk along it which ended at a little pub where we sat outside and enjoyed the sunshine (and a few glasses of whatever)

The surrounding area is steeped in history, with more castles and fortifications than any other count -, relics of a bloody and tumultuous past. The Vikings, the Romans the Anglo Saxons, the|Scots, the Lancastrians and the Yorkists all left their calling cards: one Viking raid caused the monks of Holy Island to flee with the bones of St Cuthbert and the beautiful Lindisfarne Gospels

If your tastes are more corporeal, the is a good variety of hostelries and eateries: The Craster Arms, a few minutes walk from the house is a pleasant, family-friendly pub with a decent menu for adults and children. And the fish and chips are ginormous.

For us, the weather defied the forecast and was warm and sunny, but even when it rains, there is plenty to amuse the guests in the house - Wi-Fi, Net Flix, the aforementioned board games and pool table, football arcade game etc. etc.

All the children have requested that we make this an annual event, which is testimony to the comfort of the house, and the beauty and attraction of the surrounding area. We cannot recommend them more highly.

“Elegant, luxurious, perfect!”
Reviewed April 22, 2014 for a stay in April 2014

Everything about The Haven is stylish and high spec. We arrived, in the sunshine, to this spotless, glamorous house and were welcomed by a thoughtful and delicious 'welcome package'. A chilled bottle of fizz, good coffee, cake, as well as bread, butter...a lovely surprise.
As three separate families, we then set about fighting for the best rooms. No need! They are all equally beautiful and well equipped.
Rooms sorted, kids playing pool, playing with tech (excellent fast broadband) or watching Netflix, the adults were free to chill in the vast lounge, soak up the sun on one of the verandas or start to cook in the ever so swanky kitchen.
With so much to do and see in the area to please 3 generations, we were completely captivated by the house and the surroundings.
Huge thanks to the owners who have truly got this 'just right'.

“Well equipped and comfortable property”
Reviewed April 16, 2014 for a stay in April 2014

We found this house to be extremely well equipped and very comfortable. The renovation was done to a high standard and the property has all the features you would want for a relaxing and peaceful stay. There are lots of attractions nearby including many fine pubs and restaurants. The beaches in the area are long, sandy and will provide entertainment for most. Alnwick and Bamburgh are highly recommended for their castles and food opportunities. The owner was very helpful. All in all a great place to stay.

“Amazing!”
Reviewed September 27, 2013 for a stay in September 2013

What a house - where to begin? There is everything that you could possibly need - a fabulous and well-equipped kitchen, very comfortable beds with gorgeous linen, stunning main bathroom, top quality toiletries and towels in every bathroom, brilliant laundry facilities and lots of things to keep all ages entertained should the weather let you down, from the iPod docking station and smart TV to the board games and toddler books. We enjoyed every second and didn't want to go home! The fresh flowers, welcome tray and milk in the fridge are lovely touches. This gorgeous house makes a luxury base for exploring the lovely area and is well worth every penny.

“A perfect seaside holiday!”
Reviewed September 9, 2013 for a stay in July 2013

The house was perfect for four couples and two children, with plenty of space for everyone, and everything you could possibly need provided. From the well appointed and provisioned kitchen to the luxury bathrooms, and the sea views from both lounges to the hot spa, we couldn't fault a thing. Little touches such as fresh flowers and a welcome pack were appreciated. This property has helpful owners who want you to have a good time. They even arranged amazing weather for our week's stay! An excellent art deco base for touring the many delights of Northumbria.
