Booked the attached cottage which was perfect for our party of five. We really enjoyed our evening dinner in the pub with some local Alnwick beer. Lovely to see so many people and their dogs in the bar. We were made to feel very welcome. Perfect point to stop if traveling to and from Scotland. Would definitely recommend.

Very friendly pub with good food, great real ales and they allow dogs in the bar as well. Locals also friendly who go in there. Food is good value and well cooked. There is a nice bar area and also a big restaurant area which are very comfortable. Also tables outside for nice summer evenings.

We were out touring the area with friends and came across The Blue Bell and noticed the dog friendly sign. We were given a table in the bar area. Staff were very friendly. All four of us chose a different meal and each of them were very good. We will definitely go back when next in the area.

Well what to say apart from lots of praise. Right from the start we were made to feel so welcome...nothing was too much trouble.
We ate evening meal in the restaurant and the food was delicious, plentiful and catered well for children. Our little one (aged 2) really enjoyed his dinner and made light work of the breakfast too. Which was huge although a little work is needed on the poached eggs!
The staff were very accommodating, friendly and helpful making our weekend very enjoyable. Just a little thing was the lack of a bath in the family room ....but all in all excellent!

We have just had our second visit to The Blue Bell Inn and it was just as good as our first visit 12 months ago.
We were again made most welcome and enjoyed excellent service from both Keith the owner and all the other staff.
Our room was spotless and warm and welcoming. The food amazing . A good choice and well presented. The choice for breakfast was excellent.
We are already planning a third visit next year if not sooner.
Thank you so much Keith for a lovely few days

A great and warm welcome from all of the staff. Spotless rooms and the breakfast is just one of the best we have had. In a wonderful part of Northumberland, this old coaching inn is, in our opinion, the best place to stay

Great meal, lovely food and good service....... Spoilt I am afraid too say by a table of young people where the ladies of the party seemed only capable of using the F word, which was unacceptable particularly as there was a family with two young children behind them.
No need for this and very disappointing.
