What a lovely place this site is. Tucked away from the hussle and bussle but close enough to the main towns.

20 min walk through the woods to what can be described as a secret beach as it is not all whistles and flashing lights, just a really nice clean beach surrounded by sand dunes. Safe for kids to play and for adults to stroll or sit and relax.

The site staff were friendly and those we spoke to were approachable and shared good humour. There seemed to be different areas of the site, some best for families and some for couples in a quieter area all safe behind a coded electronic barrier. There are two shower/toilet blokes with ample space. During the day one block at a time closes for cleaning for 1.5 hours but this is not as issue as either can be used. There can be a slight wait (maybe one other person in front of you) during busy times in the showers which felt to be the 30 mins before closing for cleaning, so just work around that (top block is closed 10:30-12:00 a bottom block 12:00-13:30).

Plenty of washing up facilities, washers, dryers, clothes lines, a great play area for kids and a little shop selling the basics open at times during the day and a fish and chip van on a Friday night!

We enjoyed it so much after spending a week there we asked if we could stay a couple of nights longer (camping) but, unfortunately only one of the nights were free and we would’ve had to re-pitch the tent. We opted for a jumbo, hardstanding pitch and despite it being the first time we’d pitched hard standing and the extra time to hammer the pegs in, it was worth it. Much cleaner and sturdier plus easier to take down.

The site is dog friendly although we did not take our dogs as they are so nosey and yappy but, all the dogs that were there were well behaved and a credit to their owners.

For those who arrive needing supplies there is a little Londis store a few mins drive away which includes a post office and an off- licence ( really cheap store). You don’t obviously see this shop from the road so take a right at the Blue Bell Hotel and it’s your next left after the Greys Inn.

If you need a few More bits there is a CO-OP in Seahouses and a Morrison’s, Lidl, Sainsbury’s and Aldi in and around Alnwick.

We will definitely be back as so much to do and see in only a week.

We had a great stay here. The facilities are very good, clean, bright and modern. It is excellently placed for lots of different dog walks. There is a good play area for children. We would definitely recommend this site and would come back again.

A middle aged lady attempting a solo two night camping trip to Seahouses area after a lot of research and deliberation I was absolutely delighted that I found Dunstan Hill. A very friendly and helpful welcome and I was allocated a pitch for my tent at the edge of the site where it was a little quieter. The facilities were excellent. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and wish I had had the time to stay longer. I hope I can return again soon to a lovely camp site and area. Thank you Dunstan Hill Team.

Very rigid site rules and regulations with entry and exit electronic barriers. The staff, however, are very efficient and hard working. We could only have a grass no electric pitch for our 3 man tent, however, there was an adjacent electric point not used during our stay, so a bit frustrated by that!
All very clean and tidy and for a couple ideal with children's play area away from the camping area. but looks very safe for children to play and cycle around the site.
Great site for the beach either by walking or driving.
I don't like talking about the beach as fewer people know the quieter it stays! but that's a bit mean, its the best beach in the country (my opinion). You can walk into Embleton in around 15 minutes from the site and Dunstanburgh Golf Club is very close by to play and is a great course but a challenge when the wind gets up!
I like to make art out of nature to amuse myself! photos attached!
Try a walk either to Lower Newton on the beach and if timed right a visit to the Ship Inn! and or walk to Cratser on the beach and footpath visit the castle as well run by English heritage and on to the Jolly Fisherman now very famous and busy due to the Sunday papers giving it a glowing report. Less publicity is better!! Buy the smoked kippers from Robson's shop opposite.
Overall great location and site to visit the area.
