“Brilliant cottage, perfect for a civilised hen do!”
Reviewed June 10, 2015 for a stay in May 2015

I booked the cottage for a friend's hen do, we wanted a good quality accommodation with a nice restaurant nearby and the cottages provided it. Very pleased with the standard of accommodation, cleanliness and equipment provided and the location was great. The Cottages are tastefully decorated and furnished, a real homely feel. All the rooms are spacious and the outside area and Bbq is a real bonus. The check in process is great and contact from the owner too. Would highly recommend the cottages and would happily stay here again.

“Brilliant base for a family celebration”

My mum booked the cottages as they were centrally placed for us all to meet and celebrate her 80th birthday. Excellent facilities, enough room for 45 people to gather on Saturday afternoon and the garden provided a wonderful backdrop for all the group photos. I stayed in the cottages and found the rooms spacious, the whole place to be well equipped and would recommend them to anyone looking for a place to stay for a large group.

“Excellent place but on such a busy junction”
Reviewed June 16, 2014 for a stay in June 2014

We stayed here for a hen do, we had both cottages and found the adjoining feature was great, didn't feel separate at all. Cottages are excellently equipt with all you would need, and are presented at a great standard!! The only downfall was the surprise of the position of the cottages on a very busy junction and opposite a pub. From the photos I didn't expect the place to be so noisy throughout the hours. But other than this we really enjoyed our stay and were really impressed with the cottages on a whole :)

Management Response

We're glad you had such a great time and enjoyed everything the cottages and surrounding area had to offer. We have just put some secondary glazing into robin hood cottage, which has helped a great deal with any road noise. Hope to see you again soon.

Overlooking the traffic lights and Royal Oak pub at the cross-roads in central Edwinstowe traffic is a bit noisy despite the double glazing, but this pair of Grade 2 listed solid stone & beamed Cottages are 21st Century accommodation. Perfect for a Hen Party. No near neighbours so we could be noisy too .The kitchens are fully equipped and the bedrooms and bathrooms straight out of the pages of a 4*Boutique hotel brochure. Don't think the decor or the facilities would be so well appreciated by a Stag party. There was even a Pizza Cutter in the utensil drawer ! No Freezer or ice maker though- but the pub would most likely help you out for ice if you had a round of drinks in there too.The Off -Licence is just across the road too. After that please be aware of the very steep stairs (especially Robin Hood Cottage) There is a Double Bedroom in the adjoining Out buildings for less mobile guests but not really wheelchair friendly. No more Family weddings to come so thinking of another excuse to come back .from Mother of the Bride

Liked best: the inter-connecting perfectly furnished Maid Marion and Robin Hood Cottages with the patio/terrace and garden that hardly got used at a much lower cost than nearby Centre Parcs
Liked least: distance from Nottingham nightlife
