We booked The royal oak for lunch after a walk locally in the exmoor park. It was a grim wet day and my husband and I were soaked. We were early for our booking but received a warm welcome and were happy to take us early. We however had a drink at the bar first and warmed up/dried off by the fire. We chatted to the owner and his wife who were both really friendly as was their gorgeous dog. The other lady at the bar was equally as pleasant and her service was attentive. We both had Sunday roast beef with all the trimmings. It was delicious and much needed. The sticky toffee pudding and crumble were lovely too. Would highly recommend this pub but book to avoid disappointment, we were glad we did as it's popular and easy to see why!
