The welcome on arrival was warm, friendly and very helpful. The restaurant staff were excellent particularly as I'm diagnosed Coeliac. The cutlery was washed separately and the food well prepared and hot. Nothing was too much trouble.
In the past we have stayed at Premier Inn from Scotland to the Isle of Wight and in the last five days spent two nights in the Media City UK, one night in the Motherwell and Two nights in Washington.
We were very impressed by the Premier Plus room in Media city (see review), Motherwell was the run of the mill we were used to but the Washington Premier Plus room surpassed even that of Media City.
Not only do these Premier Plus rooms have an iron, ironing board and fridge, there is a coffee making machine and they have been completely refurbished. Washington was superior by virtue of the choice of two types of shower head in the shower and a non steam up mirror plus two comfy chairs and a table. The breakfast was to the usual fine standard.
I also have to praise all the staff there who were so friendly, polite and extremely helpful.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend a stay here for anyone passing through (it’s close to the A1), or visiting places in the area
do not stay here if you value your vehicle stayed with freinds one vehicle vanderlised one brand new first trip stolan.

Can’t fault the staff or the amenities provided. Very , very happy with Premier Inn wherever I stay in UK.
We wanted to visit Beamish Museum and this was the ideal location. The hotel ,and staff were very welcoming and couldn't do enough for us. Good choice of breakfast and the waitress on both days was exceptional. Definitely go back again/
