Jemby-Rinjah Eco Lodge
Reviewed 29 April 2012

We stayed for two nights in a self contained cabin using a Groupon deal. The main course of a dinner on the Friday night in the lodge restaurant was also included.

The location of this lodge is fantastic being pretty well as a close as you can get to a wide range of walks around Blackheath. Great for a rejuvinating and romantic weekend.

The cabin like all others is set away from adjoining cabins so there is a nice level of privacy. the way the resort has integrated the natural environment with the cabins is superb, as are the wonderful crimson rosellas that drop in for a morning feed. Otherwise there is a degree of crossover between ecologically sustainable and being comfortable. Things like fewer towels, compostable toilets (no smell!), a natural fireplace, rustic style internal feel, low powered lighting contribute to the sustainability theme.

Still they had a coffee plunger and real coffee in the room! So much better than Nescafe. Also the main reception area has free tea and good coffee as well and a nice fireplace. Sadly it is not always open in the evening eg Saturday night but when it was, it is good.

Lighting at night wasn't really sufficient to read a book but hey relaxing in front of the fire was really nice.

Food pricing was a bit variable - some things were very reasonable and others seemed to be quite expensive (eg continental brekky kit for $20 each) but some of the explanation for this was probably that organic food was being used. The Friday night meal was very nice, both food and environment but one really needs to buy some add-ons to have the full meal.

Service was most pleasant and we would certainly recommend it to others - just noting that it's comfortable rather than flash accommodation in keeping with the overall theme of the lodge.

We stayed 2 nights in a 2 bedroom self contained cabin. It was right in the bush and very private. With two bedrooms each with queen size beds it was good for two couples. We were with overseas visitors and the organised bird feeding in the mornings was a great experience as well as the easy access to all the lookouts and walks. It was cool enough in April to stoke up the slow combustion fire, which went well in the cabin. Everything was very clean and we enjoyed our stay very much.

It was my first experience of Blue Mountain area and the lodge was just so romantic. The perfect quiet atmosphere and all the facilities in the lodge was ideal. Loved the fire-place and the fact that there was minimal disturbance to the forests when building the lodge. It felt like we have a home in the middle of the forest. I loved my experience here. There is kitchen facilities and few minutes drive away is the Blackheath town area if you need to get groceries etc. I will definitely go back to Jemby-Rinjah if i ever go back to Australia for holidays.

I stayed 2 nights at Jemby Rinjah Lodge with my church mates(about 40). The lodge was nice and warm enough to sleep well and its conference room, which is well equipped, was great(with special discount!! Thx:) ) Also, the experience at Evans lookout and Grand Canyon in blue mountain is unforgettable. Anyway, I cannot wait to go again.

We had our wedding ceremony and reception at Jemby Rinjah on a very wet weekend in March, and stayed on for the rest of the week for a relaxing honeymoon. Despite the weather, everyone had a great time and the misty bush outside made for some wonderful photos. The staff accommodated all our last-minute changes due to the rain (we had to move from an outdoor ceremony to an indoor ceremony), the food and wine was plentiful, and our guests mostly stayed a quick stumble away in the lodges and cabins. Renee was a pleasure to deal with in the lead up to the wedding, and she and the staff made the day run smoothly.

Our guests mostly stayed for 2 nights, and enjoyed a light breakfast both mornings, which was particularly welcome the morning after.

We stayed in the deluxe cabin (the one with the spa) for a few days afterwards before staying another few days in one of the regular cabins (we had a toddler with us). The atmosphere was relaxing, we enjoyed the isolation and gave the BBQ's and the wood heater a good workout! Each cabin also has a little gas stove. The location was just a short drive from some great cafes in nearby Blackheath and Katoomba. It was wonderful to be able to stay in the same venue as our wedding and reception, it meant we just got to relax afterwards.

We have been coming there when there was only two cabins when it was owned by the first owners, Peter and Margaret. We absolutely love the place and enjoy the ambiance of the bush together with the quiet and peace. We can unwind and just sit by the log fire drink coffee and read a good book. We will definately be back.

Our stay was also a Groupon deal for 2 nights with dinner on Friday night. We had great weather over the weekend & found the cabin comfortable & cosy. The wood heater warmed the cabin beautifully. We also enjoyed the isolation in the bush setting, very peace ful & the birds. The dinner did not, however, come up to expectations, although the service was good.
