What a fantastic place to get away from the rat race.... no tv... no mobile access (for us-. some Telcos have access).. no social media.... just the peace and beauty of the Australian bush and the bountiful wildlife- platypus, lizards, wallabies, birds. Our room at Caves House was lovely and the food at the beautiful Chisholm's Restaurant was lovely. I had no problems with them catering for my strict gluten-free diet. Unfortunately, I cant say the same for the downstairs cafe. My choices were limited to a biscuit and a packet of chips. The staff at Caves House were very helpful. The tours of the caves were amazing. The staff were extremely knowledgeable and entertaining. We thought the prices of the tours were on the expensive side.

Our weekend at Jenolan was one of the best weekends we've had away. The caves tours were alot of fun for the kids, the lodge accomodation perfect for family of 4 and dinner in Grand Dining room was my fave.

We stayed in a very comfortable & clean grand classic room, with a modern bathroom. The hotel has had a recent upgrade in some areas & sitting by the cosy fire in the lounge
was reminiscent of a bygone era after a cave tour & seeing a platypus in the river. The night sky was so clear & the silence wonderful! We also loved the historical local photos displayed throughout the hotel.

Initially the booking process was as good as it gets, most helpful and accommodating. On arrival we were greeted pleasantly and courteously. The hotel and amenities all being fully explained by staff.
You should note however that part of the charm of this hotel is in fact it's age. If you require flat screen TV's, air conditioning and 5 star facilities this is not for you. But wandering through the old common rooms, billiard room and lounges complete with cosy open fire are a real treat.
Wander outside at night to see the Milky Way as it is meant to be seen through clear sky's and without city glare.and at the same time you will notice the absolute silence, a bit strange really for a city dwellers.
Rooms whilst dated are clean and tidy with modern bathroom facilities.
Bar, restaurant and hotel staff are all pleasant and efficient and have clearly been to "hospitality" school, always with a smile and a greeting. A very positive two thumbs up to them all.
A little tired and needing some tlc but pleased to recommend most highly.

Room Tip: Upgrade as much as your budget allows.

We stayed at Binoomea Cottage so that each family had its own room. It is a bit tired and needs some maintenance - shower door doesn't close. Also very cheap nasty spare blankets. However we enjoyed ourselves and kitchen living area was well set up. Queen beds were fine - didn't use bunks. The caves themselves were fantastic. Staff were wonderful and food at the restaurant was excellent.
