What a great escape, in a secluded spot with spectacular views. We arrived after booking online and receiving detailed instruction and directions. Our walk down to Duckmaloi River a highlight. Snow was a bonus, and novel for us Queenslanders. Power outages were unfortunate, but well handled with back up gas stove, and light.

Absolutely loved our stay in wombat cottage, 2 nights wasn't long enough. Kids loved feeding the animals donkeys, pony, alpaca, pigs, goat, deer, ducks, chickens, guinea pigs. Fanatic views and very relaxing. Highly recommend!

We loved it here. The cottage was cosy and relaxing, very comfortable. Peter was fabulous to deal with, and as everyone says, it was so lovely that they stock all the extra bits and pieces for you to enjoy- eggs, biscuits, teas, some cereals and jams, etc. very nice touch. My niece and family loved feeding the animals, and it was just a really enjoyable stay. The views from the cottage were amazing!

Room Tip: Loved wombat cottage

About 2.5 hour drive from Sydney, Duckmaloi Farm offers a wonderful country experience and it's close to the Blue Mountains and Jenolan Caves, so there's plenty to do. We took the only two cottages on the property, which were lovely and very comfortable. Our children love the animals at Duckmaloi so much that they are still talking about it now that we're back home. The kids were asking where was the farmer? It was a pity we didn't get to meet Peter during our stay, but he kindly provided all the information and details that we needed to go about the farm, and even sent us names of all the animals! We could feed the animals at our leisure - the feed box had plenty of carrots but we also got some special treats like apples for the ponies!

All in all, it's a great spot for the kids - there's a small playground with a trampoline and a tennis court - and those of us looking to escape the city will appreciate the country serenity.

Another tip: the nearest little town is Oberon (15 minute drive from Duckmaloi Farm), where you will find an IGA supermarket, go there to load up on supplies. Long Arm Cafe is a great but there's limited dining options plus they all seem to keep irregular operating hours.

We stayed two nights in the Wombat cottage and there was no moment we did not enjoy! The communication from the host was clear and comprehensive , greatly appreciated when travelling with family to a fairly rural setup. Breakfast provisions were great, but it was the architecture of the cottage that blew us away! Views from every room, lovely sunsets and wildlife everywhere! Of course, you will enjoy feeding the farm animals too!
Highly recommend !
