The sawmill started up after the river cruise returned.
Interesting to view the saw in action.
Prices in the gift shop were very reasonable.

This is an important part of Tasmanian history. We visited after the World Heritage Cruise and I couldn't have enjoyed it more. I went back the next day to buy some wood for my Dad to carve. Lovely, helpful staff!

Yes you can buy some sawn boards to bring home some lovely raw and polished Huon Pine cutting boards. incredible that it does not rot or be eaten by white ants. The mill is quite small and unique in this day and age well worth a visit.

We were taken through the mill at the end of the World Heritage cruise. It was very interesting and there are all sorts of Huon pine pieces......raw wood and also turned items.......to buy at extremely affordable prices.

We went to the free demonstration of a drag saw, cut a Huon pine log. Very interesting and hear our it has evolved from when men actually did the sawing. The 3rd & 4th generation of Morrisons’ run the mill. We purchased a piece of timber, hopefully make a good sized coffee table.
