Beautiful place to get away from the traffic and chaos. There are a variety of trails, one is handicap accessible. Beautiful in the spring!!

Most people drive by and say they should stop sometime. Well, sometime is now! There are all sorts of programs, trails, events and nature to just sit and observe. The visitors center is unique and they even have a day care center for kids, Check out the calendar online and see what sounds fun. I am sure you will find more than one thing to go do.

For CNC veterans you know about Hike for Health (I called Hike Em ALL) but if you are new to the CNC check it out if your family is able to hike a couple miles on a visit over a period of time. To do Hike for Health, you buy a $2.00 passbook with the trails in it to keep track of your progress. There are are 15 trails in all at the CNC's two sites. It encourages you with check point gifts at 5 and 10 and the final gift is a hat or shirt. It's a great activity to do as a family. A wonderful way to embrace this beautiful property.

Beautiful day to hike at the Nature Center. It's sunny and 50 degrees in December. They will have their Winter Hike tonight and you will be able to go on a short hike thru the woods , enjoy some Wassil by the Fire at the Abner Hollow Cabin , see lots of stars and maybe a planet looking thru some huge telescopes. It's a different look walking the trails in the winter. This place is very well taken care of . They have a wonderful gift shop that sells some Rookwood Pottery and Charlie Harper items and lots of other unique gifts , just in time for Christmas. I also love sitting in the library by the cozy fire . You can also get a coffee or tea , just pay $ 1.00 at the gift shop .

Thank Christine S
