A peaceful place

We caught the funicular to the top of Gurten and enjoyed the lovely views. It was peaceful sitting in the shade with some breeze on a hot day. We were disappointed that the takeaway food & drink outlet was closed and the little train had stopped running - it appeared both of these shut at 5pm, even though we visited on a Saturday early evening during August, so would assume that would class as peak opening times!

Thank you for your feedback and for enjoying your day on the Gurten. We are sorry to hear that your experience was marred by the closed take-away stand Bahnhöfli and the discontinued train ride.

We would like to clarify that our opening hours are clearly indicated on our website and at the respective locations. We regret that this has led to a confusion and that you were expecting something different. The self-service restaurant Tapis Rouge is open until 8.00 pm and the à la carte restaurant Gurtners until 11.30 pm.

Nevertheless, we hope that you enjoyed the view and the park to the full and would be delighted to welcome you again.

10V2 it.....

The Rodelbahn Gurten is gratis with City Card. It was raining and only a few people there. The train itself was a bit old but it was unforgetable experience.
I was wrong, following google map "Grúnenboden" , I took the bus and landed in the middle of the track. The train itself was not stop in the middle point, so I walked to the down station : "Parkhaus Gurtenbahn" in google map
Lucky it was not far, and the view was so greeny, a lot trees and birds singing.

A must do on a visit to Bern

We had a beautiful clear January day and hiked up from the back of the Gurten. The views are spectacular, and there is a lot to do up there. Great
Play areas for kids, restaurants, areas to play games, hiking , mountain bike rides. Just beautiful

Soooo proud

I conquered «Mount Güsche», as the locals call it. I’m super proud of myself and I definitely recommend this for people to go try it. Do not give up! Once you start motivate yourself to get to the summit. You will never regret doing this!

Grand easy excursion

It was so easy, taking Tram 9 from Bern to Gurtenbahn and then the thrilling ride to the summit.

A perfect blue sky afternoon gave magnificent vistas over the city and to snow capped Jungfrau further southwards.

We relaxed with a coffee at the fine Hotel. Then strolling along the pathways admiring the clarity and scenery. Before descending and returning to the city.
