Fun evening planned with friends , dining, drinking and music. We got there Late afternoon or early evening and took a seat on high boys on the sun drenched patio. The. Idea was to get there early to beat the crowd beacause there was going to be a band.
Our waitress was on the ball and swiftly took our drink order. My Long Island was served in a large mug with just the right amount of ice, others at the table were satisfied with the quality of their drinks. As we approached the second round our waitress suggested we order dinner now before the expected crush.
I had the special which was a roast beef sandwich, mashed potatoes, gravy an order of peas and a house salad. I will admit the roast beef was quite tasty as was the gravy and potatoes. The horseradish on the side was outstanding for clearing blocked sinus cavities. My salad was large and simple mostly lettuce with small amounts of those thing which give it taste. THe peas I think , were dried peas spray painted green. Yummy. Others ordered a marinated chicken salad which turned out to be boiled , gristly and less than tasty . A poultry Reuben sandwich was described as okay.
A chicken philly must have been good as it was gone in a flash.
Here is the hang up. At certain times before , during and after the meal the. Very unpleasant smell of sewage would waft across the table. My guess is that it coincided with the flushing of the toilets in the building, although I have no proof. Management could not smell it and indicated the sewer was far from where we were seated
