Too loud to sleep, too musty and hot without it. Tossed and turned until 2 because of it.

When did trashy hotels go from $30-$40 a night to $60-$70 a night? Everything in this hotel needs to be replaced. All the doors and door knobs, the beds, the carpet. I am very disappointed in the quality of hotels these days. We spent $70 for this hotel and within the first five minutes of my 8 month old daughter crawling on the floor, the tops of her feet where stained brown from the carpet. Of course it needs to be replaced but they'll come in and shampoo and it will stay grimy. We're passing through on a road trip to Colorado and we're just sleeping for 8 hours and heading out again but I'll never stay at this or any Econo Lodge Inn again. I'll spend the extra $30 (reluctantly) to not feel like I am sleeping in someone else's filth!

This was our second stay at this Econo Lodge. We get the suite with one king and one queen which is perfect for my husband, me, and our college age son. It has a seating area between the bedrooms so gives us plenty of room to relax after 700 miles on I-40. Breakfast was good, bathrooms clean, and A/C worked well on a 100+ day. For $80 you can't beat it! It's nothing fancy but it's just fine for an overnight in Clinton.

Pretty average hotel, with a fairly sizable room. Staff wasn't the friendliest, but as a place to sleep it will do.

If you're looking for the Four Seasons, don't expect to find it in Clinton, OK. However if you are looking for a comfortable place to sleep for a few hours during a cross-country road trip, the Econo Lodge might just be for you. We were driving to New Mexico to ski and needed a place to pull off and rest until the next morning. We started checking travel sites and stumbled upon this place. For $55, we got a queen bed and breakfast for the night. A very pleasant man greeted us at midnight and quickly checked us in. All of the rooms have interior entrances - atypical for an economy motel. Yes, it's a small room. But for two people who are staying for less than 24 hours, it was more than adequate. We've paid four times this much to stay in a smaller room in NYC - granted there's something to be said for location - but we managed just fine in both situations. The bathroom is basic with a small sink by the door to the room. But the small sink has a granite countertop. The room has a flat screen TV. The bed was the big surprise. It was extremely comfortable and the pillows were very nice and soft. Most of the time when we stop on the road like this, my husband or I barely sleep - strange place, terrible bed, roar of interstate traffic, fear of cockroaches, etc. But we woke the next morning having slept soundly, well rested and ready to explore the breakfast options. There was no chef or award-winning brunch awaiting us, nor was the smell of homemade biscuits or the sound of sizzling sausage wafting through the hallway. But the waffle iron sure smelled good. Yes, it was a typical free motel breakfast - juices, milk, coffee, tea, bananas, cereal, instant oatmeal, danishes, muffins, and so on. But you only paid $55, remember? No one ever starved to death with free food. You might gain a little weight from the danishes, but you can opt for Cheerios and bananas for a healthy alternative. This will get you by until you reach more culinary options in Amarillo or OKC. And yes, the occasional faux pas of someone touching muffins with their bare hands is bound to happen. Feel free to bypass the pastries altogether. Flat screen TVs with the morning news are also provided for your enjoyment. The same cheerful night clerk was busy cleaning tables and restocking the buffet while another equally pleasant employee was attending the front desk. For a good night's sleep at the same price of other well known budget motels and enough breakfast to get you on your way, look for the Econo Lodge off I-40 in Clinton, OK.

I think perhaps we were unlucky enough to get the worst room in the place, but it was pretty bad. The sink was tiny, and it appears as if a larger sink had been ripped out of the bathroom, leaving exposed plumbing and dirty tiles. The bathroom door would not close as it had evidently been kicked in recently and the knob was broken. A filthy worn-out chair sat in the corner.

Perhaps other rooms are nicer?

On the good side, we got a decent night's sleep and the free breakfast wasn't bad.
