Owner description: The Myriad Botanical Gardens is one of Oklahoma City’s most beloved public spaces, offering its visitors a 15 acre natural escape in the very heart of the metro known as downtown Oklahoma City. A children’s garden, an off-leash dog park, the Park House restaurant, “splash fountains,” as well as paths for walking and jogging provide guests young and old with a place in which to find solitude with nature or seek community and the company of others. The Myriad Gardens provides an elegant backdrop for events both large and small, ranging from concerts at the Bandshell to intimate weddings in the Crystal Bridge Conservatory. Additionally, the Myriad Gardens offers a variety of horticultural education programs for adults and children. Classes range from story reading, making chocolate, wreath-making workshops to the annual Oklahoma Gardening School and more. Thanks to a multi-million dollar renovation partially funded by the city, as well as a general revitalized interest in a vibrant downtown, the Gardens quickly is becoming an integral symbol of the new Oklahoma City and those who call it home.

5 of us went to the Botanical Gardens on a Thursday afternoon. The tickets were affordable and parking was very easy to find on the street. Remember your license plate before you go up to the parking booth!! My sister said the parking attendant is a "Parking Ninja" so make sure to pay your $3.50 or you are likely to be ticketed.

The garden is unique in its shape, and offers several different varieties of plants, trees, and cactus. I personally found the waterfalls and orchids absolutely beautiful!

There are some stairs to climb and I did not see any handicapped accessable ramps to the upper areas, but there is a lot to see even if you are not able to go to the top.

Outside there is an open concert area, just off the canal. The canal has HUGE Koi fish and lots of geese, ducks and birds. I was suprised how clean the walk ways were after noticing the geese.

It was a very pleasant day and definately recommend it to all! Just remember if you have small kids to remind them not to touch the flowers and cactus, all are within reach! Including those thorns!

There are several photo opportunities as well. Enjoy!

Lil Alex loves walking in and around the gardens. He loves to show the flowers to his grandmother and give the ducks snacks. For a 3 year old he has a great time. We injoy walking at the gardens an excellent place to take the family.

The indoor gardens are always interesting and with the new rennovations, the grounds are impeccably maintained. Agreat place to have a picnic on a nice warm day, right in the heart of the city.

It was all renovated two years ago and it's a great place to visit as a family. Kids can play in play grounds and with water during summer.
