Driving down the Oregon coast, we wanted some seafood for supper, and Edgewaters did not disappoint! Friendly and hospitable staff, we had a table by a window overlooking the bay. We ordered crab cakes and fried oysters for an appetizer. The crab cakes were probably the best we’ve had, and the oysters were plump and tender. My husband had the seafood chowder and I had the mixed green salad with huckleberry vinaigrette. Both were wonderful. Then we had Pacific black rockfish filets with Dijon coating and sauce along with balsamic rice and steamed asparagus. The entire meal and experience was a wonderful end to the day!

Wait staff were really nice - was at the bar and all was good - but my 'special' steak was overdone a lot and I was on a time limit so I just ate it - ugh - for $32 it was a bummer-
Ditto salad and pretty blah bread.
Oh well - live and learn - for a drink it's good but I think it's overpriced for the quality

Edgewaters got us a table regardless of a last minute reservation call, and the table was a view seat of the Coquille River and Bandon lighthouse at sunset! That was the start of a wonderful meal. We weren’t dressed for this nice place, having come directly off the road, but no matter-service was attentive and very helpful with our many questions. Tastes of wine were given to choose a perfect selection, and two differing levels of appetite had the wait staff crafting our meal of appetizer and chefs special into one cohesive presentation. The crab cakes were exceptional, the salad fresh and crisp. The special was a thick, juicy and tender steak with Dungeness crab and grilled asparagus under bernaise, “steak Oscar.” Garlic potato side has homey and good, steak was perfect, and the crab and asparagus fresh and tasty. A very fine meal, highly recommended!

When I originally called to make a reservation, the woman I talked to mistakenly scheduled us for lunch on a Thursday. Edgewaters is not open for lunch on Thursdays! We found out later that she had tried over and over to call us back and explain, but was not able to reach us until just before our trip. Their level of concern over a simple mistake and the potential inconvenience it might cause us was amazing. Nice people! Because we could not have lunch there on Thursday as planned, we decided on Tuesday, the day of our arrival, to try to have dinner there that night. The concierge where we were staying made the reservation, even though they were already heavily booked. When we arrived at the restaurant, it was obvious the people at Edgewaters had recognized our name and they were very concerned about the booking mistake. The woman who seated us admitted that she was the one who erred and explained that she felt badly about it. We all were able to laugh. She seated us upstairs (a very good option, by the way) and we were given a corner window seat on the west side of the room. The view of the lighthouse and sunset over the water from that window were spectacular. But the food and service at Edgewaters were even better. Julie, our waitress, was a delight--funny, attentive and very helpful in exploring the menu. I had the crab louie. The presentation was delightful, with each element placed artfully and separately on the plate for me to mix and select myself. An Arizona couple at a nearby table overheard us ordering and, without being intrusive, suggested we ought to try the crab cakes because they were so big and delicious. This is an excellent restaurant. Excellent.

We had an outstanding experience here. The service was over the top and the food excellent. Everything was served hot and in proper order. The waiter was the best. We ate upstairs and had a wonderful sunset. This is the best place to eat in Bandon
