Great folks if you are in a car; At River's is THE PLACE if you're iin a RV. Best lower river (Chetco) fishing
is right at your feet!

Have stayed there for close to 6 months ... no reason to go elsewhere .. fish in the river; rod rigged!! At R's Edge is one mile up from the Ocean, first place Salmon/Steelhead collect before heading up stream .. you can guess the rest .. luck still involved.

Room Tip: The first is a car trip, the second is you in a motor home/trav. trailer, etc.

Our visit could not have been more delightful. Everyone commented on the practicality of the facilities for our group.
For instance, every cook coveted that behemoth of a stove; the TV room was a brilliant idea because it kept a certain age group entertained and kept their messes relatively confined.
Every fussy baby had a room in which to fuss, as did the whiney toddler.
Everyone had a bed for the first time, one bed didn't seem to have been used at all (but we stripped it anyway).
Almost all of us ( age 3 months to 70 years) swam in that beautiful, clear. Chetco River which bewitched one of my dogs, she stalked minnows for hours.
Oscar and Kat, the onsite caretakers, were a hit with everyone who had the chance to meet either one of them.
And the beauty and solitude of the surrounding forest...it was a major success!
So, we are agreed that we'd all love to return one day for another Memorial Weekend Family Reunion, however next year we're in Portland. We ALL feel blessed to have had the chance to experience this amazingly peaceful estate.

Hoping to visit again, we are,
Valerie and the rest of the family

I would give more stars if I could! If you are looking for a dog friendly place away to get away from it all and say in a comfortable cabin on the banks of a pristine river look no further. It is off grid, has all the comforts and is close enough to town if you need to run in for supplies. Had a great time fishing and mushroom hunting! Many thanks to Kat and Oscar who were great hosts!

I've since returned to my routine in Los Angeles, but my mind keeps drifting back to this magical place in Oregon. My family spent three nights in the stone cottage and wished we could have stayed forever. We miss the river, the gauzy clouds draped over the lush mountains, the drizzling rain, moss covered trees, mushrooms, the pigs, the peacocks, the chickens, the comfy beds, the amazing wood stove. Oscar, the proprietor of the Inn at the time of our stay, is a thoughtful and kind host, with a wonderfully empathetic spirit. I hope we have occasion to return, perhaps at a different time of year, to experience another facet of an infinitely fascinating corner of the world.

Room Tip: The Stone Cottage was perfect for me, my wife and our two young daughters. Absolutely picturesque, w...

My husband and I stayed at the Rock House for 3 days last summer. Rock House is a separate cottage near the larger Chetco River Inn, which can accommodate larger groups. What a place! We loved swimming in our own serene little spot, walking, collecting rocks, and hanging out on the patio with a glass of wine and a good book. It was a delight getting acquainted with the farm animals and the peacocks. The male wowed us on repeated occasions with magnificent displays-we were part of his daily rounds.

The cottage is very clean and comfortable. One thing to be aware of....the website indicates there are 2 bedrooms. It should more accurately be described as a large studio with a master loft bedroom plus 2 beds on the main level. We had originally booked the cottage together with 2 friends. Fortunately, they were not able to come...there are no doors to contain loud snoring!

We were glad we brought plenty of food. The kitchen has good basic supplies and we had no desire to leave this idyllic spot.

We highly recommend this very special retreat.

Room Tip: Cottage is suitable for a couple or a small family. The master loft has a half bath. The beds on the...

three years and lots of life since my kids and grandkids were together. We came to this place sight unseen after I found it on the net. What a blessing and a miracle, pictures really dont do it justice. We had all ages and 4 families in the Inn, the kitchen was big and open so you werent isolated when cooking. The eating arrangement allowed for a girls kids table and a boys kids table with spectacular river views, the kids pretended they were at a jazz club (they have never been to jazz club so I don't know where that came from). We had all 8 adults seated at the main table for wonderful family meals. We had nightly fires outside on the patio with stories, marshmellows and prayers, the river view was stunning. God's coloring book is really awesome. I can't wait to go back.

Room Tip: all good rooms, king size bedroom downstairs was perfect for gram and gramps, no stairs to deal with...

It's a weekend I will never forget! The kids walked along the Chetco River, we played card games in the cozy living room, and taught them how to build a fire;)
There are lots of trails minutes away and the river spot was perfect! Kid friendly. Animal friendly!!
The Rock Cottage is comfortable and cozy. The Jacuzzi tub is great and the location couldn't be better for a relaxing stroll in the evening....
Wonderful.
I plan on going again in the Summer!!
