We've been vacationing to Oregon for 8 yrs now staying at various VRBO & Vacasa home rentals . We've loved everywhere we've stayed and always expect FULL disclosure when renting. Here are the pros and cons of Lake Haven.

PROS:
Good partial lake view
Private lake access and dock (no ladder for swimmers)
Comfortable beds
Washer/dryer on lower level
Vacasa manager was very pro-active and helpful (our fridge went out the day we arrived and he had it replaced within an hour)
Very quiet and the lake cove was only occupied by very few people.

CONS:
Spiral staircase is rickety (held up at bottom by a large piece of wood shoved in): definitely not safe for small children and/or small pets as they could easily slip UNDER the "security gate" (which fell off while we were there).
Spiral staircase is only access DOWN to 2nd bathroom and laundry facilities (which is in a dank, dark, cold basement which pics show as sunny and bright.)
There is about a one foot clearance to bedrooms btwn fridge & staircase
Rooms were so small that one can easily hit head when getting out of bed (my petite 13 yr old did this everyday as she'd forget to duck down).
The bathrooms were made for Lilliputians! They are NOT meant for anyone tall. My husband is 6'3" and had about 1" clearance when taking a shower. (He said he was glad he didn't drop anything!)
Your knees hit the cabinet in upper bathroom when sitting on toilet.
Downstairs bathroom a tall person can't even use as toilet sits sideways and you hit knees on cabinet AND the corner of shower stall.
Bathroom ventilations are awful with no windows and a small ceiling fans.
Access to lake is down a path that is NOT good for anyone with any leg issues that cannot easily avoid the tree limbs sticking up and the high wooden 2x4's and earth steps near lake. One of the 2x4's came loose while there which made it harder to navigate to lake.
NO mention of possible bears in area. We put out trash cans as usual and sealed lids tightly. The night I went out, heard something and the bear was shredding our trash can. It was only about 15 feet away from where dog is let out.. The scariest part is that my daughter usually takes the dog out but on this night I took him out.
The couches were so filthy that we covered them for the 9 days with sheets.
Kitchen is very small and not "well equipped" like others said. Esp as we do all our cooking. They have odd, unusable utensils that seems to be from another era.
Dock is in need of repair as wood is cracking with about a 2" gab on one board.
Edge of dock has rusty nails where we were trying to sit.
Decor was lacking and outdated.
LR table furniture old and stained.
Lighting was atrocious at night. We had to move the lighting all around the house just to see as there are no overhead lights.
Upstairs loft is good if you don't mind blazing sun in am waking you up AND you can navigate the spiral staircase up & down.
Entire cabin needs major overhaul.

We were thoroughly disappointed but made the best of our lengthy vacation. For the price we paid compared to the price we've paid to stay at other lakes and at the ocean, this wasn't worth the money. The ONLY saving grace was the private dock and lake access.
